A/N so I don't ship Larry, (Mary/lance) but there WILL be some romance in the book. ;)
EMILY
"Wait, what happened? They're all blank! What happened to the rest?" I exclaimed. Mary was at least half asleep on her bed, so I might just be talking to my self. I'm sitting on my bed, looking at an empty sheet of paper rolled into the prophecy. I stick my head off the bed and looked underneath it. I quickly drew a fly on the empty sheet and ripped it out. I held it close, and morphed into it. I know, I'm amazingly intelligent. I flew under the bed, because it was so low off the ground. I looked around and saw absolutely nothing.
I got flew back up to my bed, but before I morphed back, I thought I'd mess with Mary. I flew over to her bed and buzzed extra loud close to her ear.
"Emily!" She said groggily. "There's a flyyyyy. Can you get it?" She swatted at me a few times and then I went back to my bed. I morphed back, and asked: "Is it gone now?" There was a few seconds of silence, and then a very quiet yes.
Anyway, I still don't know where these papers went! I mean, they're here, but they're blank. We should probably go to Jack and tell him about this, but I don't think Mary's gonna get up. She hasn't slept in a few days. I put my jacket back on, and reached for a mask. Before I put it on, I remembered that I don't need it anymore.
- ---------------------- -
I flew all the way down to Jacks office using the fly that I drew earlier. I decided to keep pen and paper on me at all times.I morphed back and walked through the door.
"Jack? Jack!?" All the lights were off, and the only thing you could see was the light coming off of Jacks computer and his tired eyes.
"Jack?" I said a little more quietly.
"Oh! Emily! Sorry, I've, I'm,... I'm tired, is all. What did you need?"
"I was looking through the prophecy and..."
All of a sudden, the white light from the computer flashed into a red, and I saw a notification pop up. Jack turned to it immediately, intensely staring at it. I saw his lips move, but I only heard mumbles.
Suddenly, a smile spread across his face and he jumped up so quickly that his chair fell behind him. He ran over to me, skipping actually, and grabbed my hands. He spun me around singing some happy song, while I had no idea what was going on.
"They're safe! They're here! Both of them! They're safe! They're here!" He sang.
"Whoa whoa whoa, who's here?" Who's safe?" I asked as he continued to dance with me.
"Mackenzie and Emma! Mackenzie and Emma!" He sang.
"You mean... Big Emma?" It couldn't be little Emma, she didn't have powers. But I don't think Big Emma has them either.
Jack stopped dancing, and looked back and forth. He leaned in really close, and whispered, "YOuKnOw hER?" I backed up quickly and covered my ears. This man does not know how to whisper.
"Yeah! Yeah, I know her."
"Oh! Oh! She used to work with me! We were partners! She'd come in on the weekends, and surprise me sometimes on weekdays. Oh! She was my best friend!" He started dancing again. "Emma's here! Emma's here! Emma's here! Lala lala!"
MACKENZIE
"Ok, hold on. This might get bumpy." Emma said as she looked around, quickly reading the labels on all the of buttons, trying to land us. Suddenly, the plane fell straight down, I saw circles, and knew this would take a while.
--------------------She flew up a bit, then took a nose dive down. After pressing a few buttons, she pulled up a bit and landed us a very bumpy landing.
The place looked familiar. I didn't know exactly where we were, but I recognized the buildings.
"Take this, then follow me." Emma said. I saw her put on a mask, then hand me one. She put on a jacket and kept her head down as she walked.
We come across a tall building, maybe the tallest here. Emma shuffled her bag and said, "Put your hand here". She gestures to a black screen sitting next to the door.
"I don't think my hand works." I say, remembering my mom doing it the first time we got here.
She looks me in the eyes. "Trust me." I put my hand on the screen and see lasers run along the edges of my fingers. It shuts off completely, then turns green. The double doors slide open and Emma guides me inside. There is a big purple tube, just like before. She jogs over to the opposite side of the circle room, and opens the door.
"You tired?" She asks."Very."
"Here." She injects me with a shot of some orange stuff before I have a chance to respond. "Don't worry. It's safe. Now, we have to run to the end of this hallway, and enter the double doors. It's a long hallway, you ready?"
I'm energized, I have even more energy than I've had before.
"Yeah, I'm ready."
