  MARY
I awake in a room. The walls are black and there's a single screen on the wall in front of me.
My body aches from lying on the floor. I rise slowly, and the screen flips on.
"Rise and shine, sweets!" Jame's voice bounces around the room.
"I didn't think you were the one to be such a sound sleeper! It sure was a bumpy ride over to Earth."
"Earth?!" I ask aloud. "How did we..."
"Anyways," James interrupts. It seems that the video was pre-recorded. "As we all know, I didn't take too kindly to you and your friends trying to ruin my plans. I wasn't going to let CHILDREN stand in my way! So, I've finally managed to push you to the side, and go through with my bigger plans. That's right, ladies and gentleman! This is the real deal!
"I'm collecting up the people of Washington D.C. into one building, and then sending in one of my jets to bomb it, killing them all! That's only the beginning! I'm killing everyone! But don't worry, Mary dear. Ive got you a front row tick-" I punch the screen, expecting to easily destroy it, but it hurts like hell. I'm more so consumed by confusion rather than pain as I realize I only made a small crack, just enough to cut the video.
I punch it again, half expecting a different result. Pain surges through my fist and my face heats up in frustration. I punch it again and again and again. "Why isn't this working?" turns into, "What's going on?" which resolves to, "Why is this happening?"
I sit on the floor, unclenching my bloody fists to hold my face. So this is it. This is how it ends? I know that on some other day, I would have found some solution to this, but right now, I couldn't. I could feel a flicker of anger begin within me, but I was so tired...
No, I can't. I can't be too tired. That's not an option. I get up and hold my ears to the black walls, seeing if I can hear any activity on the other side. On one of them, I can hear the low rumble of what sounds like a generator, and that's all I have to work with, so that's good enough. I turn to the TV and use my weight to pry it off the wall.
Holding the screen in my hands awkwardly, I count down, "3...2...1..." and slam it into the wall. The loud crash startles me, and I can see a small dent in both the wall and the Tv. I try again. "3...2..." Slam! Slam! Slam! I continue to run into the wall, until my frustration can no longer be contained, so I ram my shoulder into the dent. I yell out, half out of anger and half out of pain.
Eventually the dent is big enough to put the TV in it and use it like a pro-bar. This part was much easier, and eventually I was able to slip through.
The room on the outside was much brighter, so I take a moment to let my eyes adjust. I look at my now destroyed hands and feel the bruise on my shoulder, but quickly decide that there's no time for a check-up.
I see a set of stairs in front of me and run down them, as there was no other way to go. I am greeted by a new room, with a giant control panel in front of me, against the white walls. To my left, I see
     Oh no
I see my friends, family, people who I love, laying down in separate cells. I quickly pray to whatever being I think is above at the moment that they're only sleeping.
In a moment of panic, I run to the controls, seeing if there's anything I can do. The first thing that I notice are controls to flying the ship. With this, I see where Jame's attack ship is.
I could stop him, I think to myself. Sadly, I also notice our very short supply of fuel. It's only enough to get us close to his target building, and no where near Jame's base.
Think, think, think! What can I do?
I pace, my thoughts racing and difficult to read.
After a few moments, I think of two options. I could either set the ship to crash into the other one, stopping James, but killing everyone on board if I want to get there in time. If I did this, I'd also need to decide if I was going to wake them up to say goodbye, or if I'd just let them go in their sleep. My other option would be to hurry and try to help everyone off the ship, running away from the situation and saving my friends.

   What should I do?

(A/N) so this is going to be a little "chose your own adventure" thing. In the next few chapters, only read the one that has a title related to the path you want to go down. (Of course you can go back and read the others if you're curious)
