The next three days were spent in panic mode at the library.

I skipped everything, and devoted my time to flipping through books on dragons.

The only thing I found that was of any help was the fact that their eyes were their only weak point.

At one o'clock am on the morning of the task, I lay in bed in a ball, clutching my sheets as the wind whistled through the crack in the window.

I was monitoring my breath to make sure I didn't hyperventilate, but it was helping me none.

I was practically panting, and at around three, it woke Hermione.

"Sarah?" She asked. "Are you okay?"

"Perfectly fine," I said softly. "Amazing. Brilliant. Absolutely perfect."

"Sarah," she said, leaving her bed as coming to mine. "You're not okay."

"Yes I am," I breathed. "I'm fine."

"No you aren't," she told me.

We went back and forth for about five minutes before I gave.

"Fine Hermione. You're right," I told her. "I'm not okay. I'm not fine. I'm doomed. I'm dead."

"You're not dead," she whispered.

"Not yet anyways," I replied.

She rolled her eyes. "What happened to the confident girl who scared the crap out of Malfoy senior twice?"

"She got knocked out by a Death Eater, lost several hours of her memory, and is about to be burned to a crisp because someone wants me gone," I said to her tonelessly.

She sighed. "Do you have a plan?"

"Hit it in the eye with a spell," I replied.

"What spell?" She asked.

"Whichever one comes to mind first," I said, shrugging."Except a fire spell or explosion spell. I think it has to live."

Hermione nodded. "Probably. How d'you plan on hitting it in the eye?"

I shrugged again. "Luck?"

She made a noise of disbelief. "No! You need a real plan!"

"That isn't one?" I asked.

"No!" She cried softly. "Not in the least bit! It's not even a fraction of a plan!"

"But luck's always good, innit?" I said.

"Not when you've got logic and planning," she told me.

"But when those fail, luck's always a good back-up plan," I nodded.

She made a small noise of disbelief again and cried "logic and planning never fail!"

"Oh, come on Hermione!" I said. "Crystal and Morgana have told me plenty about you guys' adventures before I got here. Planning never worked."

She tutted. "That's because they were hastily made. A good plan takes ages."

"So this plan'll be semi-hasty, aye?" I asked.

She sighed in exasperation. "I'll make the plan, you go with it."

The several hours later, at around nine, four hours before the task, Hermione came flying into the library beaming.

"I've finished the plan!" She cried, then slapped a thin stack of papers down in from of me.

As I flipped through them, my incredulity grew.

"Hermione Granger, you've gone utterly mad, but this just might work."

(A/N-hey guys! I known it's on the short side, but I didn't want to put it with the actual task, and I figured you needed a good cliff-hanger anyhow. And anyways, at least it's not depressing like the last couple of chapters have been.

I really sort of feel bad for putting Sarah through this, but at the same time I know it's necessary and-other things. No spoilers. (Sorry, Doctor Who thing. Sort of.)

Anyways, I love you guys, and I hope you've enjoyed the story thus far and that you continue to enjoy it!

--later note-- jeez, I can't believe I said 'thus far'. I'm such a weird person. XD
