Classes continued like normal, and I had taken to ignoring everyone around me. I had tuned everyone out once again as we stood in line for Potions, vaguely listening to the conversation until I saw Harry pull out his wand.

"Take it back, Malfoy," he snarled.

"No, I don't think I will," he drawled, pulling his own wand out.

Both of them shouted spells at the same time, and they ricocheted off of each other, one hitting Goyle, the other hitting Hermione.

As Goyle's face burst out in angry boils and Hermione whimpered, Snape walked out.

"Fighting, are we?" He sneered.

"Potter tried to curse me, sir-he hit Goyle-" Malfoy said.

With hardly a glance in his direction, Snape said, "Hospital Wing."

"Malfoy cursed me too!" Harry snarled furiously. "And he hit Hermione look-"

Snape sent a cold look down his hooked nose. "I see no difference."

Hermione, whose teeth were past her collar and growing larger by the second, let out a wail and ran off.

Harry, Ron, Crystal, and Morgana started shouting at him. The din kept anyone from hearing what they said, but Snape caught the gist.

"Detention, Potter, Weasley, Fay, Imatuare," Snape snarled. "In, or I'll take points."

The rest of the class filed in, but I stayed. He had crossed the line this time.

"What about Malfoy?" I asked.

"I believe I told you to get inside," he said.

"No," I replied. "First of all, Malfoy sent a curse at Harry-you either need to give him a detention or take points off."

Snape tried to interrupt. "You can not tell me-"

"Second of all," I said, speaking over him. "You need to apologize to Hermione. That was completely disgusting, what you said. Third of all, you have no right to treat students that way! What would you have done! Oh, wait, I know! You try and get two INNOCENT PEOPLE THROWN INTO AZKABAN! I SWEAR IF YOU INSULT ANOTHER STUDENT I'M GOING STRAIGHT TO DUMBLEDORE, AND I WILL SEE TO IT THAT YOU LOSE YOUR JOB!" I finished with a shriek.

He looked livid. "You don't get to threaten me like that, little girl."

I felt the power overtake me again. Forget fighting it anymore, he had driven me to the edge. "I do get to threaten you like that. You know why? Because I will do everything-EVERYTHING-in my power to make sure the rest of your life is as miserable as the start of mine was. Do you really want that? I didn't think so."

With that, I turned on my heel and left for the Hospital Wing to check on Hermione.
