beauty. a thing justin saw everyday. in his mother. his mother's love. nature, itself. just life. . .is what he guessed. . .

J.

justin. on the outside, was what society called hot; slang for handsome. yes, justin knew that he looked pretty well for a twenty-one year old in his position. in high school, when he was a tender freshman, with bright eyes, all the girls fawned over him. all up until they saw and heard that he was mute.

after that, all throughout those four years, justin stayed off by himself. he relied on no one when it came to comfort, which was when the wall really started being constructed on. . .

justin was eager to step out of the simple home that sheltered him, pattie, and jeremy. a house that carried many memories that swam around in justin's head. justin was very thankful for all the great things that occurred under that roof.

like when justin got accepted into his high school, or when his parents renewed their vows under the maple trees in the backyard. and in those vows, jeremy promised pattie that he'd stay beside her. even if they created a mute child.

justin also remembered the things that occurred under that roof that weren't considered great.

like when justin was first told that he was mute. young justin cried for days after that. he'd finally know why all those little children had told him that he was strange and none of them wanted to play with him.

justin shook himself from his head, as his feet padded down the stairs that would lead him to the world. like always, the stairs groaned under his weight. those stairs never liked weight or anything for that matter.

the sun was still perched above the almost bare trees. it peeked up, getting used to the sky and it's atmosphere. birds began chirping, letting everyone and everything that they were up and you should be too. the wind swept past his exposed face, bringing a pink blush to his nose.

with a low hang of his head, justin silently made his way to the car waiting by the cement curb. he moved swiftly, like he wanted go by unnoticed by everything around him. like always, really. . .

getting to the car that would assist him in his journey, justin unlocked the passenger side and got in. immediately, justin felt a smile grin wash up on his face. a genuine smile. a smile he'd only give to his mother, to tell that he was either happy or alright. no one else got that smile.

starting the freshly painted bmw- bought with his father's money- justin was more than ready to get out of his quiet neighborhood, filled with mostly the elder which were always visited by their grandchildren.

justin sat in the library, poking around the tall, beige shelves that held all kinds of books. from cooking to how to flirt. justin couldn't do either.

he had been a few places before the library, like the movies, and a homely looking diner to get some food that justin thought was well deserved. so far, he was enjoying this time away from that instructor lady and her yellow walls.

after the movies, justin thought that some peace and quiet would be nice. really, he felt like he was sixty years old, thinking that he needed quiet.
