[31] - the parents

you ever catch yourself when you realize that you're going a bit overboard?    .....

J.

justin. justin had always tripped over being mute, and since he'd never encountered another person who was like him, it made him feel like he was indeed alone.

but, he'd soon learn that he'd meet people who wouldn't judge him because of his lack of speech.

"so, what happened here?" lauren examined the scene in front of her, as she brought her glass up to her lips. she raised her eyebrows up to the slightly drunk season, who sat with her legs crossed on the opposite couch.

justin sat on the same couch, his eyes casted down low, as if he were ashamed of what happened before lauren had walked in her shared apartment with her best friend.

season only giggled in her seat, her dilated pupils glancing over to justin before landing on lauren. "nothing, lauren," season said, and a hiccup soon left her lips, afterward. but, of course, lauren knew how white wine affected season's system.

after only one glass of the liquid, season was out of it. she and season almost hooked up because of it. . .but that was another time. . .

justin only listened to the small conversation between the two, wishing he could just sink into the couch under him and disappear until everything blew over. . .he really didn't want to deal with lauren and season, who was, only minutes ago, about to suck a hickey into his flesh.

he got uncomfortable just thinking about her plump lips on his skin. he needed to get out of here.

lauren eyed justin carefully, wanting to read right through him.

"you like my season over here?" lauren had found herself asking justin a question, her glass down on the table, empty. justin perked his head up, his brown eyes meeting lauren's darker ones.

he found her intimidating. for some reason. . .

but, he nodded his head, telling lauren that he did find interest in her best friend. lauren only hummed at him, mischievously, nodding her head in understanding. she quickly licked her lips, before grinning at the two of them.

"then, you should stay for dinner, right, season?" at this moment, season had sobered up, and was looking between the two young adults. "n-no, if he doesn't want to, he shouldn't have to," season shook her head, dismissing lauren's thought.

"justin. . .do you want to leave?" lauren and season moved their eyes to justin, only making it harder for him to breathe. he didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, nor be under lauren's glare any longer.

but, he felt as if he were stuck. . .what should he do?

finally, justin did what he thought he should've done. he'd shook his head, telling him that he'd stay for dinner with season and her friend. he didn't know if he'd regret this later, but he'd stay for season.

"great," lauren smiled at justin, and moved to get up, "i guess we'll have chinese," lauren was not a big fan of her own cooking, so she was just going to order their favorite. chinese. . .

justin was left sitting next to season, the silence between the two a bit of awkward, as they both remembered what happened before lauren walked in.

"i'm so sorry, drew," season sighed, closing her eyes and shaking her head to her own disappointment for herself. justin bit his lip, not really understanding why she was really apologizing. he kind of liked what she was doing to him.
