[18] - we meet again, drew.

sometimes, life is just one big misunderstanding.

J.

justin. life was already so hard for poor justin. him being mute, and having a fear of getting close to people made it even more hard.

and most problems in justin's life usually were misunderstanding. . .

he was misunderstood.

"hello?" the voice of season flooded through the cell phone line. her voice sounded troubled, as if something had happened and she didn't know what to do or think.

but, something did happen.

pattie had told justin's so called secret. she'd spill his fear over the barrier he'd made to protect himself. the wall was slowly melting, and it was all because of justin's mother.

pattie didn't understand why justin had not told that dear girl of his condition earlier, maybe she wouldn't have reacted so badly to hearing it in the hospital room.

"this is pattie. . .justin's mother," pattie spoke into the phone, as if season had totally forgotten who justin's mother was. the same woman who'd tell her that justin was indeed mute.

how could season forget this woman?

"oh," was what season replied with, her nerves floating all over her. she didn't know how to take what pattie had told her back in the hospital room, so she'd thought that if she left and figured it out on her own. . .everything would be okay.

but, what season didn't know was that justin had just tried to commit suicide only a few hours ago, because of season and his emotions. and that was why pattie had phoned this girl so quickly. . .

"um. . .i don't know where i am going with this, but, there is some i need you to know," pattie breathed into the phone, her eyes staring straight ahead at her asleep son.

after pattie had managed to get justin back inside the house, she cried and rocked him to sleep, and a few minutes later, decided that she should at least apologize to season and tell her what she got herself into.

"okay?" season's responses were short and curt, her heart beating in her shirt, quickly. honestly, she was thinking of the worst things now. maybe justin was dead?

". . .i am truly sorry for telling you that my son was mute. . ." pattie finally apologized, her hands gripping the phone tightly. "he should've been the one to tell you himself. . .and i think you should really come see him," pattie brought it upon herself to get them to meet again, seeing that her son almost died, because they weren't talking.

"oh? i accept your apology, and i don't know about seeing him right now," season spoke lightly, trying to cut the conversation short. she didn't think that right now would be a good time to see justin again. maybe next time?

"are you sure?" pattie pushed on more, her voice softer, as if trying to guilt season into coming over to see justin. on the other line, season sighed, and closed her eyes, processing over all the possibilities that could come out of meeting with justin.
