"You found the sword of Ballthoozar?" Mia asks, muttering the last word in an effort to hide the fact that she couldn't pronounce it.
"Does the sword of Balthazar look like a giant, glowy, rainbow sword with a skull looking this in the middle that's floating above the exact spot the Doors of Death were chained to?" Jen asks with an "Are you questioning my fidelity?" tone.
"Well thats one way to describe it." I mutter and take a step closer.
The blade is jagged and brightly colored. A shape that resembles a skull sits where the blade meets the handle. A swirling pattern made its way to the tip of the sword that is burning bright enough to make my head burn with pain. On the other end, a large opal glistens. I can feel it pulling me towards it. The colors so... powerful.
I step closer to it, feeling its warmth rush through me with a stronger wave each time my foot touches the ground. I'm vaguely aware of voices from the ground, yelling at me. Telling to do... no... not to do... something. Since when am I not on the ground? I'm getting closer to the sword and the ground's getting farther away.
The rest of the world fades and it's just me and the blade of Balthazar. For just a second, I can see everything in this world in perspective. A heartbeat fills my head an I realize I'm in the heart of Tartarus. All the creatures that were sent here, it isn't their fault. They were bred to kill. I was bred to hold power. Now I will literally, hold solid power formed into a weapon.
I reach to the sword I was made to hold. The second I touch the handle, The world goes dark.
All the light. All the warmth. All the power from the sword.
Gone.
