I stand in the middle of the outdoor style mall and tune my guitar. After a long day at school I've decided that I need more practice if I want to accomplish my dream. I figured I would do it here in the mall to see if I gain anyone's attention. If one of my friends happen to see me it will be as good as any to tell them so why not, right?

I think for today I'll just do two songs to see the reaction I get. The songs I've picked are both extremely upbeat and happy. Not songs people who knows me would expect me to do.

I finally have my guitar tuned and it's case sitting off to the side where I stand in the common center place of the mall where other people sing sometimes.

As I start to play the upbeat tune of the song a couple people turn my way.

On the other side of a street I knew
Stood a girl that looked like you
I guess that's déjà vu
But I thought this can't be true
'Cause you moved to west LA
Or New York or Santa Fe
Or wherever to get away from me

I begin to sing, my voice echoing slightly off of the walls around me. A few people begin to stop and listen as I continue with the song.

Oh I swear to you
I'll be there for you
This is not a drive by
Just a shy gal looking for a two-ply
Hefty bag to hold my love
When you move me everything is groovy
They don't like it sue me
Mmm the way you do me
Oh I swear to you
I'll be there for you
This is not a drive by

By this point I have a little crowd gathered around me. A big smile is spread across my face as I sing and play my guitar, something I've never done in front of people before but damn it feels good.

Clarity and I have decided to spend our afternoon at the mall for a lack of better things to do. Spending our afternoon goofing off just seemed to be appropriate for today. Clarity and I have just been going through random stores since we got here with not much of anything interesting happening.

But now as we exit one of the many stores we have been in I hear the echoing of a beautiful voice. I can't seem to put my finger on it but the voice is very familiar. I decide I need to investigate so I start to head towards the distant singer.

As I rush through the crowds of people I hear Clarity following behind me. She's used to my spure of the moment decisions so this is not out of the ordinary for me.

As we get closer to the voice I notice that it is coming from the common area where lots of performers usually set up. But once I get to the common area and I can hear the voice, I instantly know who it belongs. But as we approach the beautiful girls ends her song and begins talking to the crowd that has gathered around.

"Thanks everyone! You guys are truly amazing. I have one more song for you." Kacey says and the little crowd cheers.

I look to Clarity and I don't think she has caught a glimpse of Kacey or recognized her voice because she hasn't said anything. However, as we get closer though I hear her gasp as she sees Kacey's smiling face.

"One, two, three." Kacey whisper before she begins to play her guitar. As her hands strum the cords I can't help but smile at the happy tune.

There's no way to say this song's about someone else
Every time you're not in my arms I start to lose myself
Someone please pass me my shades
Don't let 'em see me down
You have taken over my days
So tonight I'm going out
