Chapter 20: Jackets and Guilt

"Can we look at our jackets now?" Kate asks almost as soon as we make it back into the cabin from eating dinner.

"Hold you're horses there kiddo, wait until we all get seated in the living room before you go ripping that bag open." Ash laughs.

"Fine but you guys better hurry up." Kate says with a huff and a cross of her arms. She seems to be feeling a lot better now and back to normal after what happened earlier today.

"Alright Kate let me go set my bag and shoes in our room right quick." Clarity says as she takes off up the stairs.

There is nothing that I need to put upstairs so I just plop down in the comfortable chair in the living room. I watch as April makes her way to me. She didn't have anything to take up stairs so she has to wait with us.

April makes her way over to me slowly before smiling coyly and plopping herself down in my lap.

"You do know that there are several other places in this room for you to sit instead of on top of me right?" I ask the red head as she laughs softly at my complaint. 

"Yeah I know but this just seemed like the most comfortable seat." April says and I shake my head at her antics.

"Okay whatever you say Red." I laugh and wrap my arms around her waist so that I can pull us into a more comfortable position.

I pull April to my body do that her back is flush with my front and I rest my head gently on her shoulder so that I can still see the others.

Kate is excitedly holding on to the shopping bag that holds her jacket with a happy smile on her face. Ash is just sitting on the couch looking through hi s phone quietly. Just when I think that Clarity got lost up stair she comes jogging into the living room.

"Okay you guys you can look at your jackets now." Clarity says as she takes a seat on the couch.

With an excited smile Kate pulls her jacket from the bag. It's a black leather jacket with glitter cuffs on the sleeves and glitter on the collar. On the back her name is written in a beautiful loopy font.

"Oh my god I love this." Kate says as she stands to try and put the jacket on.

April lets out a small giggle as Kate struggles to put on the jacket since she is in such a rush. After finally getting on the jacket she examines it further before squealing and throwing herself at Clarity.

"You guys are the best." Kate says as she buries her head in Clarity's chest. Clarity just wraps her arms around Kate's waist and smiles at her over excited friend.

"Well I guess it's my turn." April smiles as she grabs her bag from the floor but still remains in my lap.

"I think you'll love it. I mainly worked on yours. Much to Clarity's dislike." Ash says with a big smile.

"Yeah he wouldn't even let me look at it so honestly it will be the first time I see it." Clarity says as she finally gets Kate to release her and take a seat to watch me and April open our jackets.

"Oh dear god April be careful. Ash made it, that can't be good." I whisper in April's ear and she laughs softly.

"Hey! I know you're talking about me Kace. That's no fair, you're so mean to me." Ash complains and I just stick my tongue out at him.

April shakes her head at us as she pulls her leather jacket from the bag. From the front the jacket just seems like a simple black leather jacket but as April turns it around a small gasp escapes her lips.
