In Love With My Best Friend

Chapter 28: L.A.

•April•

"Hey pretty are you sure you have everything?" I ask Kacey as she slides into the backseat with me. Her new manager got us a car and a driver to take us to the airport so that we will be on time for our flight to LA. I still can't believe that all of this is real.

"Yes Sunshine I'm sure. My mother probably checked my bag a million times and asked me a thousand times to be sure I didn't miss or forget anything." the tiny brunette scoffs quietly about her moms harassment.

"She was just trying to make sure that you were going to be okay. You are going to be gone for a while and it scares her to have one of her daughters absent. You know that Clarity, Kate, and Ash will be missing you as well and everyone is worried about us being away for so long." I explain to her the best I can.

"I know it's hard on them but still it stresses me out that they worry so much. I don't want them to worry about me or you. We have each other and I know that the both of us can get through this." my girlfriend says staring into my eyes. She is such an adorable and beautiful minded person.

I lean across the seat and place a kiss just to the side of Kacey's lips on her cheek.

"You missed." Kacey says as I lean backwards. For a few moments I stare at her confused.

"What do you mean?" I ask the smaller girl.

"You missed my lips. You're supposed to do it like this." with that Kacey leans across the car and attaches her lips to mine. I stare at her wide eyed before finally giving in to her affection and leaning into the kiss.

Seconds after it started, its over. As expected because we haven't exactly shared many kisses. But what was not expected was for Kacey to place a small peck on the tip of my nose. I instantly feel a blush creep across my face.

"You are so adorable." Kacey says once she is sat back in her seat.

I smile at her bashfully and she reaches over to interlace her fingers with mine as she holds my hand. I look over into her hazel eyes and I see nothing but affection and warmth. This girl is something else.

The rest of the ride to the airport is silent as both of us are very nervous to be leaving. I imagine Kacey is more so than myself. It's hard to leave everything behind for this long but I know it's worth it.

When we reach the airport the driver parks the car quickly and then grabs our bags from the trunk. Briskly Kacey and I follow behind him as he takes us straight through security. What the hell is happening?

"On the way here I got a call from Lucas and Roxie. Roxie decided to send her private jet to pick you guys up so you didn't fly coach. A welcome to the business as she put it to me." the blonde headed driver explains to me.

"That was too nice of her. We could have flown coach. It wouldn't have bothered us." Kacey speaks up with a thoughtful look.

"Roxie is a very sweet girl she often does this for her friends and colleagues." the driver says and I smile. I'm glad that Roxie really is as nice as she is made out to be. "Follow me miss Parks and miss Clark."

Together the two of us follow behind the older man with our hands interlaced. I can feel Kacey shaking anxiously as we head over to the hanger for where I'm guessing Roxie's jet resides.
