Chapter 22: Feelings

"Because I like you a lot Kacey Parks. More then just friends and I hope you share the same feelings." April whispers from behind me as she places a light kiss behind my ear.

I can't believe what has been happening in these last couple of minutes. I was just trying to get away for a while to think and then April appeared. In the beginning I thought I was just dreaming as she placed the first kiss on my shoulder. But I'm starting to realize that this is a reality.

I turn my body so that I can look into the shocking blue eyes that I've grew to find comfort in. I search her eyes for any indication that she is lying.  But all I see is pure want, longing, nervousness, and complete sincerity.

"April I don't know what to say." I continue to stare into her eyes as I reach a hand up to cup her cheek.

"I've never felt this way for anyone April and you know that. I-I've never been in a relationship or anything like that so you'll have to be patient with me. I like you very much and I'm ecstatic you feel the same. You're such an amazing human and you make me feel so safe when you're around." I tell her stroking my thumb gently on her cheek.

"I know that you've never been with anyone. I'll be gentle and patient with you. We'll take this step by step. I'm willing to do anything for you. Just please promise me that if you are ever uncomfortable with anything that you tell me right away." April says as her eyes stare into mine.

"I promise." I say looking up at her.

The beautiful blue eyed girl in front of me presses a lingering kiss to my forehead before pulling me into her body.

"Thank you. Now I say we get some sleep before you over think things like you always do." April whispers into my hair.

"You know me so well." I giggle into the crook of her neck.

"Sleep, you little trouble maker." she laughs.

Just like that the two of us quietly fall into a peaceful sleep wrapped in each other's arms.

"Wake up pretty." I hear as a gentle kiss is placed on my neck and then another on my shoulder.

I groan but slowly let a smile reach my features as April peppers kisses across my skin. What a wonderful way to wake up.

"Hi." I rasp out, morning voice clearly evident.

"Hello Kacey." April laughs as I open my eyes and look up at her.

A warm smile lights up her face as I yawn and stretch my arms and legs. Her eyes are nothing but soft pools of crystal blue as she stares down at me.

"Did you know that you are very beautiful?" she asks placing a kiss to the tip of my nose.

I blush and hide my face as I'm not sure how to react in situations such as these with a budding relationship on the line.

"Oh come on, don't hide from me." April says turning my face to look at her once more.

"I can't take you being so sweet this early in the morning, Sunshine." I say with a groan as I try to roll out of the bed.

But I don't get far because she grabs
my waist and pulls my back to her so that my back is pressed against her front.

"Where do you think you're going missy?" she asks me teasingly.

"I was getting out of bed so I could get ready. Isn't that why you woke me up?" I ask her confused.

"Yeah it was, but now that you're awake I don't want you to go." the beautiful redhead says from behind me.
