The hotel was booked on almost every floor.
That is the reason Esther had to split them up into different rooms.
Kirstie was rooming with Esther, clearly, because Jeremy didn't trust her to room with the boys and Scott and Mitch were inseparable.
But then she left something in Avi's bag.
While in the airport, she was having trouble with her lock, so Avi, being the gentleman he is, took her sweater and put it in his bag for her.
She rode the elevator 7 floors down.
She was jumpy as she knocked on his door.
"Avi?" She called.
No response.
She frowned, knocking harder.
"Avi!! Avriel!! Come to the door!!"
Then his muffled voice came through.
"I'm putting on a shirt! God, Kirstie, patience is a virtue!!"
She flushed red and put her hand to her side.
Barely 2 minutes later, the door flew open.
"Jeremy let you come?"
She laughed a bit weakly, causing Avi to shake his head.
"Kirst, I love you, but honestly, if any photos of us get leaked, Esther is going to slit my throat."
He smiled slyly.
"In fact, she's already this close to giving me a bloody nose. It's not pretty."
She whacked him playfully across the arm.
"I'm here for my sweater. Calm down."
"Oh, alright. I think it's on the sofa."
She gasped dramatically.
"You didn't bother to fold it??"
Avi rolled his eyes.
"Just go in and get your stupid sweater."
"Alright." She grinned sliding in past him into his room.
It was messy; his rooms were always messy like that. Kirstie knew from experience. She began to rummage through the pile on the couch.
"Kevvy not home?" She called out.
"Nope. Expected you to come over so he left."
"Ah." She sighed. "That's always the case isn't it?"
"Unfortunately, yes."
She continued burying through the pile.
There it was, at the bottom, wrinkled and probably smelling like him instead of her.
That made it even more special.
"Found it!"
"Great! Now get out before Esther gets on our tails."
"Rude!" She exclaimed, heading out anyway.
"Bye, love." He smiled at her sweetly, ruffling the hair on her head. "Jeremy's a good actor. So are you. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you two were actually in love."
"That was a bit random." She laughed, hugging him. "Well, you know better. And I love you."
She all but skipped down the hallway giddily, getting to the elevator on the opposite side of the hotel.
Then she pressed up, but it wouldn't come.
Kirstie mumbled to herself a string of profanities.
She continued to furiously press the button, only giving up when the words OUT OF ORDER flashed on the display. She sighed and walked back to Avi's room, because she sure wasn't going to climb up 7 flights. She had a show tonight and she was in heels.
"It's broken." She said dully as he opened the door for her.
"What?"
"The elevator. It's broken."
"Oh." He blinked. "That would make sense."
They stood for a while, just staring at each other awkwardly.
"So... Wanna just cuddle until it's working again?
"Sure." She smiled sweetly. "Sounds great."

Kirstie woke in Avi's arms with a smile.
But then her phone buzzed.
And it buzzed again.
And again.
And again.
And then there was a loud knock on the door.
She rolled over to check her texts.Esther: Kirstie where are u
Esther: Kirstie
Esther: I swear to god if you leak any photos I'm going to kill you
Esther: Now I'm actually worried where are you
Esther: Are you still in Avi's room
Esther: I'm coming down
Esther: The elevator's out of order
Esther: Is that why you're still down there???
Esther: Reply!!!
Esther: I'm at the door
"That would explain everything." She mumbled. She shook Avi awake.
"I have to go."
He groaned.
"Alright, fine. I love you."
She giggled softly and planted a kiss on his forehead.
"I love you too."Comment if you want more of this AU!
