I woke up when the tank like car came to a complete stop. It was still dark and I didn't know where I was. I was scared, this guy is supposed to be dead. The back of the car unfolded and I got out, my legs shaking.
I looked around and held my arm up against the car for support and saw I was in a cave. Except this cave was on steroids. It had computers and giant screens on what seemed like all of the walls. The car I was leaning up against was on a giant turn table structure. Reminded me of what would be in a train yard. Across the room there was a giant fighter jet in shape of a bat. I know this is Batman, but what is with the bat-fetish?
"Follow me." The Bat said and walked to a metal bridge that led to another platform. I followed him with out an argument.
He pressed a button on his mask and then took it off. I couldn't see what he looked like, I only saw the back of his head. He had black hair that was matted down, probably with sweat. I followed him, but kept my distance. He looked like the real deal, but why did he fake his death and go into hiding? I had so many questions for him.
He led me to an gymnasium like area with weights and the normal gym stuff. He walked over to a rack full of towels and handed one to me. Once I saw his face, I couldn't believe my eyes. Bruce Wayne, a multimillionaire playboy is Batman.
"Take these. Get cleaned up and I'll be over there." He said said and walked over to a platform with a bunch of screens and computer monitors.
I turned around to face a building that was next to the gym area. I guess it was a locker room so I opened the door, and I was right. I walked over to a row of showers, don't know why there was so many in here. I turned one on and waited for the shower to get hot.
I got in and watched as all the dirt and grime washed off of me and went down the drain. The hot water beated on my back as I processing what happened tonight. My parents were dead, I guess me and Bruce had something in common, and I got abducted by Batman.
I got out and wrapped the towel around me and saw that my old clothes were gone and were replaced with new, fresh clothes. A pair of charcoal pants, a white button up shirt, a black leather belt and a package of boxers. Once I put all the clothes on i noticed a pair of black shoes. I put on the shoes and walked out of the locker room with the towel and package of boxers in my hand. I looked like one of those asshole rich kids. I really shouldnt say that because I just got adopted by one.
A. old man was waiting for me outside of the locker room. He had a grey mustache the same color of his hair, which was almost gone. He wore a black tuxedo with a bow tie.
He greeted me with a smile, "I'll take those for you, sir."
I handed him the package of boxers and the towel, "uh thanks."
"It's no problem, sir." He simply said and walked off to an elevator.
I started to walk to the area with the screens. I felt like I have fallen down a rabbit hole and Batman is the white rabbit. While walking there I passed by, what I guess were, batsuits. These things were pretty wicked and they all looked a little different from the others. There was a grey and black suit and there was an all balck one with golden utility belt. The obsidian black cape flowed down to the floor. The bat symbol looked sharp and the bat ears looked sharper. Next to the Batsuits there were the robin suits. The first one looked pretty ridiculous and the second one made my brow furrow. The words "haha" were painted on to the suit. I moved on and looked at all the gadgets.
After exploring for a bit, I made my way over to the Bruce and saw that he was sitting at a computer. He wasn't wearing his batsuit, he was wearing pretty much the same thing as me but with a black shirt and black pants,
"I guess you have a lot of questions." He said, spinning around to face me
"Yeah why did you fake your death? What the hell is the place? What ab-" I could have gone on and on, but he cut me off.
"You really do have a lot of questions," He said with and his nose crinkled, "I didn't fake my death, I faked Batmans. The reason why i did it is because no one feared me anymore like they used too. With the Joker dead, there wasn't a lot of things to do. So I just faked his death. This place is the batcave, HQ of the batfamily. I'll make sure to introduce you to them, but that might be a problem, some of us arent on good terms. Anyway, you're under the Wayne Mansion, now can I ask you a question?"
I was mad, and I didn't know why. He did give me a place to stay, even if it was just for the night. He practically saved my life by pushing me out of the way of that fire ball and I did the same for him. I nodded, "Yes, what is it?"
"How old are you?"
"What time is it?" I asked.
His eyebrows knitted together and he looked at his golden watch, "12:22 am."
"I'm 17, its technically my birthday"
He only nodded, He stood up and motioned me to follow him. He walked to the elevator and pressed the button. Soon the elevator door opened up.
"Get in and Alfred will take you to your room."
"Who's Alfred?" I asked stepping into the elevator.
"You've met him." He said and pressed the button. The elevator doors closed and it was silent.
When the doors opened again, I was greeted with a giant room. I stepped out of the elevator and it closed and went back down. A bookcase then closed over the elevator to hide it from whoever may see it. The same old man walked over to me, I guess this was Alfred.
"Hello, master Thadd, I will take you to your room." He said and started walking down a large hall and I followed him.
After a while of walking, he opened a door and the room was huge. A giant window that was looking directly towards the rest of Gotham. He flicked on the lights and I saw the rest of the room. The bed was across from the window and there was a giant dresser up against the wall.
"Get your rest, Master Bruce wants to talk to you in the morning." Alfred said and shut the door.
I nodded and plopped down in the bed, not even bothering to turn off the lights.
