After lunch we had two more hours until school ended for the day. After those two hours, the final bell for the day rang and the halls quickly filled with kids, just dying to go home. I was about to walk out the main gate and wait for Dick to get here, but someone tapped my shoulder.

I spun around and saw Navea smiling up at me, I just now noticed how short she was compared to me,

"Hey, Warner, do you have any time? I want to talk to you."

"Uh, yeah.. I have some time. What do you want to talk about?"

I felt someone crash into me and hold my arm tight, I looked over and saw it was Rain. I was beyond confused, what was she doing?

"Yeah, what do you want to talk about?" She asked with a slightly harsh tone of voice.

Navea stammered and shook her head, "Just wanted to uh.. ask about the math class, I'll talk to you later Warner." Navea walked away and Rain kept a tight grip around my arm.

She let go after Navea was out of sight and she sighed,

"Warner, can we.. uhm talk?" Rain said looking down at the ground

"Yeah, uh su-" I started to say but was interrupted by my phone buzzing in my pocket. I never really used my phone a lot, just kinda kept it around just in case of an emergency or something.

I reached in my pocket and grabbed my phone and looked at the caller ID, 'Dick Grayson' It read and I let out an annoyed sigh,

"I'm sorry, but I have to take this."

Rain nodded and i stepped away and answered my phone,

"Hello? I'm kinda in the middle of something.."

"I came to give you a ride hurry up." Dick said over the phone

"Can you wait for like, 5 minutes?" I asked looking back at Rain.

"No deal, my bud is waiting for us back at the mansion, we can't keep him waiting, man."

"Fine. I'll be there in a soon."

"Don't keep me waiting or I'll leave you here!" Dick yelled at me and I hung up the phone.

I walked back over to Rain and her face seemed to light up when she saw me,

"Rain, I have to go.. can we talk later?" I asked, hoping she wouldn't be sad.

"Yeah.. I'll talk to you later." She said and walked out the main gate. I sighed and walked out the main gate and ran to the red sports car that was pulled up on the curb. I got in and Dick drove off to the mansion.

Once we got to the mansion, we got out of the car and rushed inside. I took off my over coat and Dick and I took the elevator down to the batcave.

Once we got there, we walked to the armory area and I saw a guy sitting in a swirly chair, examining all the suits of armor. He spun around and I saw a good look at his face.

He had a buzzed hair cut and had big blue eyes. He stood up and was pretty much the same height as Dick. He had on a white long sleeve tee shirt and a pair of black shorts,

"Is this the new recruit?" He asked looking at me.

"Be easy on him, Tim." Dick said and walked over to him.

"I will, what's your name, kid?"

"Warner." I simply said and flashed a smile.

"I'm Tim and im going to help you out with some armor. Dick told me what he was planing for you, not a bad plan if you ask me, but it's not going to work unless you protect your self."

"So what's the first step?" I asked leaning up against the wall.

"Gotta get your measurements then well start planning on what the whole suit will look like." Tim said and walked over to me with some measuring tape.

I've been measures before, Bruce had a custom suit made for me back when he used to take me everywhere. Tim jotted down my measurements and put the measuring tape away when he was done.

"Okay, first things first; what kind of look are you going for?"

I paused for a second before speaking up, "I just want to look like a street kid, like someone who is just causally walking along."

"So how you did the other night?" Dick asked, spinning around in a chair.

"Yeah, like that."

"Okay and how was that?" Tim asked picking up a pencil

"I was basically wearing a hoodie and a pair of jeans, and the Robin mask."

Tim nodded and started to draw out something. A few moments later he handed me the piece of paper.

He drew out an armored pull over hoodie and a pair of black armored pants. The mask wasn't the same thing as the Robin mask but it seemed to cover more of my face,

"This looks awesome." I said in awe while looking at the paper.

"Cape or no cape?" Tim asked as I handed him back the paper.

"No cape."

"Okay, what kind of colors do you have in mind?"

"What about red, gray, and uhm.. black?"

"Kind of the mix of Bat and Robin, okay now for the big question, what is your name going to be?"

I haven't really though of it, and it was hard to think of a name on the spot. It was silent for a while but then it came to me,

"BlackBird." I blurted out.

Dick and Tim both stood up,

"That's all I need, we'll get back to you later this week." Tim said and walked over to the elevator with Dick following him.

I stayed in the armory and felt my phone buzz. I took it out of my pocket and saw several messages from Rain.
