It was always dark in Gotham, the sun doesnt seem to exist. I woke up and walked to the window and looked at the cloudy city. The window was huge it was taller than I was. It over looked part of the city; I could see the clock tower and I could almost make out the GCPD letters shining through the fog.

I heard a knock on my door and I almost fell over from being startled. I didn't know what to say, so I just walked over and opened it myself. Alfred stood there, he had the same kind of clothes on as yesterday; a black tux with a bow tie.

"Good erm," He looked down and checked his watch "afternoon, sir."

"Hi Alfred, what time is it?"

"12:35 pm."

I nodded, "Probably the latest I've slept in in a while." I said to myself, quietly.

"Master Bruce would like to see you, do you have any time to see him?"

"I have nothing else to do."

"Ah that's excellent. Follow me." He said and started walking down the hallway. He was surprisingly fast so I had to keep up.

He walked down the hall and into an other hall. He knocked on a door then opened it. Bruce Wayne sat in a office chair looking through papers. He looked up and, what I think, flashed a small smile.

"Hello Alfred, Warner." He said setting down the papers.

Alfred nodded and left the room, leaving me and Bruce alone. Bruce motioned me to sit, so I sat down in a chair that was across from him. It was silent for a minute before Bruce stood up and looked out the giant window.

"So, Warner, I see that you are wearing the same thing as yesterday?"

"I have nothing else to wear."

"That's true, I'll get Alfred on that."

"So why did you call me in here?" I asked as he sat back down in the chair.

"I want to ask you a few questions."

"Okay, like what?"

"Who are you?"

"I'm batman" I said sarcastically with an eye roll.

"Ha ha, really funny. Seriously, who are you?"

"I'm just some poor kid who's parents juts died in some fire and now I'm standing in a room, talking to Bruce Wayne, that's who I am. I'm a useless, stupid teenage bum and I don't even know why I'm here." I said with a mad tone in my voice. I didn't want to be here, I didn't care where I was, i just didn't want to be here.

He was silent. He didn't say anything, he was just studying me. He stood up and walked over to a giant grandfather clock that was up against the wall. He opened the glass covering and began to adjust the giant chimes.

After he did he stepped back and my jaw dropped as the clock moved itself away from the wall and a passage way appeared. He stepped into the passage way and I stood in the room in awe. He poked his head back in and cocked an eyebrow,

"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to follow me?"

I shook my head and started following him. I stepped into the passage way and followed him. It was well lit and it surprised me.

We were about half way through the passage when I stopped walking. I wasn't thinking, he could have a killing dungeon down here or something, I don't know. He could easily kill me and no one could know. Sweat began dotting on my forehead and I felt light headed. He was still walking and he didn't really seem to notice that I stopped. I shook my head and started walking after him.

The passage way led to the same cave like area I was in the night before. I followed him over to the gym area and he grabbed a few weights off the rack and set them near my feet. I gave him a confused look.

"You said you are useless, you're not. No one is useless."

"Okay, but what are these for?" I asked motioning to the weights.

"You're a noodle, you need to train."

"For what?"

"To be great."

That's all he said and he walked away to the giant computer monitors that was not far away.
