Why am I even bothering to continue wearing these silly, precious shoes?
Without question they were, up until a few short minutes ago, the most beautiful shoes in all of the United Kingdom. Now, they are muddy, cold and beginning to chafe my heels. Perhaps they were going to end up in a museum. Perhaps future generations would have said, 'what an interesting choice in footwear for Queen Juliette to wear on her coronation day.' Perhaps I would have danced with Prince Philip while wearing them.
And now, I will forever associate them with the death of Papa.
