42. an echoing hallway full of chairs

The concept of precedence gave me no undue amount of stress.  Having not brought up within the never ending formality of the court, I certainly did not care whether or not I entered a room first or last.  Askew, of course, loved this sort of thing and was constantly reminding me that it would be a high insult to disrupt a system which had been in place since the 16th century.  Which is why I was currently looking at a long hallway, full of decorated chairs, wondering how many more times in my life I would see a similar view.
