The modified omnibus was awkward, but as Captain Cranleigh informed me, 'the height of modern security.'
We passed a tree - marked by a violent lightning strike and I pondered its texture. Something seemed off -- as if it was not nature that had made this mark. What could possibly have done so? Rumors of magic had always circulated these woods, but I had given them no additional thoughts...
