Askew left it to me to decide what portraits I wanted to have moved from Meadowlark to the palace.  I wasn't overly sentimental... I sometimes credited growing up without a mother for my lack of empathy, but the reality was an image couldn't take the place of someone.  I was far more concerned with ensuring my finely tuned instruments and tools would safely make the journey to Buckingham.  In the end, the small framed portrait of my parents (a recreation of the wedding) was all I selected, leaving the other works of art in a bedroom I no longer needed.
