Papa was always sending small items through -- packages from overseas and far-flung locales.  What he never seemed to realize is how little I cared for dolls.  And yet, there was something particularly fascinating about the set which had recently arrived on our doorstep.

"India?" I guessed.

Askew nodded and said, "Kerala, perhaps."

The wooden dolls were intricately carved and seemingly identical.  I saw Askew smile and asked, "What?"

"It appears they are an interpretation of 'see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.'"

I looked at the expressions on the faces of the dolls -- very clever indeed!
