Chapter 14 – From Koathe

"Smile," Moon leaned closer to Luke's ear. The hall was filled with people yet Luke seemed completely distracted as they danced.

"What?" He asked looking down at her; he quickly rearranged his facial expression to his usual smug one. It was like her was closing a door to his mind.

"You look miserable," Moon grinned, pinching his shoulder where her hand lay. "Maybe you should stop dancing; you're becoming sloppy."

Luke laughed spinning Moon out, bending her backwards, "I just need to concentrate, it's hard when there's nothing to concentrate on." He pulled Moon back up, his hand held the small of her back pressing them closer.

Moon booted her foot into his shin; silently thanking Lisa for giving her heels as Luke whimpered. He still didn't miss a step as they kept dancing, Moon smiled pleasantly but gasped as his hand dug into her hip. Moon spun out and in the smile still on her lips. "Fine, we're even."

"Not yet" Luke grinned, "I told you I'll let you know when we're even." Luke's eyes glinted as he looked behind Moon; he spun so she could see. "But for now I think I've found my next dance partner." He spun Moon out, releashing her hand. She stumbled back as Luke turned to a couple, "Can I cut in?" He asked to the startled couple, Louisa Carbe looked delighted at her new partner. The man standing by himself still seemed startled as Luke dragged Louisa to the other side of the dance floor. Moon's eyes opened in awe at Victor's husky figure stood alone. 'What are you doing?' Moon ducked passed a row of couples, keeping her head down as she leapt off the dance platform landing softly on her feet briskly walking to her table.

"Miss Murri?"

Moon cursed silently at the voice, hoping it wasn't someone asking her to dance. She turned politely smiling at the man. "That is I," Moon was instantly hit by a wave of dark vibes coming from the man, it seemed like there was cold, dark air was emiting from him. "How do you know who I am?"

He smiled, "I apologise, I'm Drew Whiteley from Koathe." That explained the dark feeling from him, Koathe was an extremely dark city; people from there were what you would call evil. Many died there, mostly unexplained. People there had dark intentions, even their city was underground,

People from the main city were generally pale from lack of sunlight and red eyes with larger irises. It pained them to enter the light so they generally didn't come out of Koathe. This man however had a healthy glow; 'he must be one of the modern generation who live over the city.' Moon was stunned at the information that entered her mind, 'where did that come from?' She couldn't remember ever learning much about Koathe.

Moon realised she had been quiet for far too long. "How do you know who I am?" She asked again, he had dark handsome features, his eyes were seemed entirely black, he looked like the man who was cocky about his looks and could get any girl he wanted, then why talk to Moon. 'Now I'm thinking like Luke.'

"You're the talk of the town, but no one ever gave justice to your beauty."

Moon chuckled, "No need to lie, I am hardly a beauty there are far greater beauties in Alvis."

"You have never been to Koathe, the women would never be able to match your beauty. But there is something different about you, isn't there. That makes you ten times the beauty of the ones in Alvis." He offered his hand to her, "Would you like to dance Mistress Feud?"

Moon mentally froze but her body moved of it's own accords, her hand gliding into his, she couldn't pull away no matter how she tired, something held her in place and let him guide her like a puppet. The dark feeling that surrounded him seemed to have entered her mind and beneath her skin. They moved onto the dance floor he swung her round.
