Demi Lovato's POV

I had been there for over a month now. A terrible one. It was way harder than I was expecting it to be. But I thought it started to work because I was able to talk to my psych without being ashamed of what I was saying or being ashamed because I needed help. It was a normal day, I got up at seven, went to have breakfast at eight and had therapy sessions until noon. Then we went eating with people from my therapy's group. Like every Wednesdays I had my afternoon free to myself so I decided to get out and walk around the rehab center. It was a big white building on a large land.

I walked alone for a while humming some songs until I saw two little figures. Two brown haired girls were there yelling at each other.

"You're fucking perfect, how could you even understand what it feels like to be here? What it feels like to be stuck in a terrible body? What it feels like to hear people whispering nasty comments about yourself?" Said one of them, she was facing me. I had seen her around once or twice. She was a patient here too. Another damaged soul who was trying to get some help. Trying to feel a bit better, a bit freer.

"I didn't say that I understood, I said it's quite understandable that you don't wanna stay here." Said the other one, she was not yelling, she was talking very calmly and I could see that it was irritated for the other one.

"I didn't need help! You're the one who thought it could do me good to be here. It's not working! My own little fucking perfect daughter took her mother into a rehab center. You should have just said that you were ashamed of your family and believe me, it would have avoid a lot of pain." And with that, she walked away. She passed near me, she was breathing heavily. She looked at me and I could see anger but also a point of disappointment in her eyes. I continued walking, without any idea of where I was going to. I ended up sitting on a bench near the small lake behind the clinic. It was a very peaceful place compared to what was happening between the clinic's walls. A very green grass with some flowers here and there, huge trees near the water and sun rays reflecting on the water making it even bluer.

I looked around and I saw the same brown haired girl who had her back facing me during her fight with her mother. This time she was facing me on the other side of the lake. She was sitting on the grass, her gaze fixed on the water. She looked up and saw me, she stared at me for a while.

"Great she must have recognized me." I thought to myself.

We kept on looking at each other for a while until she smiled weakly at me and got up. I thought she was going to come near me and asked me for an autograph or a picture, but instead she waved me and started walking away, once again her back facing me. I looked at her walking away until she was nowhere in sight. I did not know what, but there was something special about her. Something genuine which made me want to know her.

Another week with the same routine passed, I saw the girl's mother a lot of time and she was definitely going through a harsh time. Her skin was paler and paler with every passing day. Her eyes were fleeing, she was not looking at anything. Like the last Wednesday, I went out on the afternoon and headed to the lake. From what I was seeing, I was alone. I continued walking towards the bench where I sat on last week, and I saw her. The same girl was here, looking at the water. I stood here, not knowing what to do, I finally made up my mind and started walking back to the building.

"You don't have to go." I heard a voice said with a British accent. I turned around and saw her looking at me with the same weak smile. I smiled back at her and sat on the bench next to her. "I'm Cher, by the way." She continued after a long pause.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Demetria." I answered her. She looked at me and smiled warmly for the first time. A smile that I had to return back at her. "So what are you doing here?" I asked her.
