Cher Lloyd's POV.

“So, are we going to talk?” I asked Demi as we were walking to the living room.
“Sure.” She whispered, clearly nervous about what was coming. It kind of pained me to see her feeling uncomfortable around me. But there was nothing I could do about it, at least not right now. She sat on the couch and I took one of the chairs, facing her. She smiled weirdly at me and took a deep breath. “I really don't know what to say.” She whispered and played with her fingers. She kept staring at her hands as if they were the most interested thing in the world. It made me smile, she did not change during these few months.
“First of all, how are you?”
“I'm fine, just tired. I've been working like crazy.” She said smiling sadly. “And you?”
“I'm okay.” I said and Demi raised her eyebrows.
“That's all you're going to say? That you are okay? You took a break from your career. I wanna hear all about it.” She said with a small smile.
“Okay then.” I took a deep breath and my eyes met hers. “I spent a lot of time with my family. My dad's not really fine and Sophie needed me to be there.” I said and Demi nodded, clearly waiting for me to continue but I was not going to tell her more.
“That's it?”
“Pretty much.” I said and she shook her head.
“Look, I know I messed up. I know things are going to be weird for a while. But I'm gonna do my best for you, for us.” She said smiling and I nodded.
“I know.”
“I should go, I've a meeting at the FOX studio.” She got up quickly. “Do you wanna come with me?”
“No, it's okay. I'm gonna go see Lauren.” She nodded and walked to her bedroom.
“By the way, where are you staying?”
“In my flat.” I said which made her stop and turn around to look at me.
“Your flat? Here, in LA?”
“Yeah, I kinda needed one.” I admitted and Demi nodded. But I could see that she was hurt by what I just said. She walked to her bedroom and I waited for her in the living room. Once she was done, she walked to me and smiled at me.

“Ready to go?” She asked trying to sound happy while we were in the elevator.
“Yep.”
“So when am I going to see you again?” She asked blushing and I wrapped my arms around her.
“I'll call you.” I said and gave her a quick peck on the lips. “Have fun.” I whispered and left the building without looking behind me. I kept walking without having a clue on where I was going. After a while, I finally figured out where I was. I took my phone and called Lauren.
“Hello? Cher?” She said directly, sounded worried.
“What are you doing today?”
“Nothing, we have a day off. Are you in town?” She asked quickly.
“I'm in front of your building.” I said and she stayed silent. I only heard noises which sounded like she was running. And suddenly, the door of the building opened and Lauren ran to me. She wrapped her arms around me as tight as she could making hard for me to breath.
“I'm so happy! What are you doing here? Oh Gosh I'm so happy!” She kept on yelling in my ears and kissing my cheeks.
“Calm down.” I said laughing and Lauren blushed.
“I'm sorry, it's just.. Wow, it's been a while.” She smiled cutely and I nodded. “Let's go to the park?” She said, winking.
“You read my thoughts.” I said smiling. She linked her arm with mine and we walked to the park. We were lucky that there were not a lot of people today. We walked to our usual spot, and sat down against our tree. Lauren kept staring at me weirdly.
“What? I have something on my face, haven't I?” I asked and she laughed.
“No, I'm just so happy that you are here. I've not seen you for a few months and here you are. Right next to me. I mean I can do that.” She said and slapped my arm.
“Oh thanks!”
“Or that.” She added and kissed my cheek. “Ah, I'm so happy.” She said for the tenth time and laid her head on my shoulder.
“How are you?” I asked her, my arms wrapped around her.
“I'm fine, things are great.” She said exciting. “The girls are fine too and amazing things are happening to us. We're going on a tour this summer.”
“No really? Wow, congrats.” I said and kissed her forehead.
“And you? I feel like I don't really know you anymore.”
“Don't say that, I didn't change.” I said and pinched her arms.
“Oi! Why did you do that?”
“Payback babe.”

“Please don't hate me because I asked you this.” Lauren said trying to smile but it looked like a grimace.
“Yeah?”
“What happened to you? Why did you have to take a break from everything?” She asked blushing and I sighed. I knew people were going to talk about this.
“It's complicated.” I sighed again and she rubbed my back gently.
“If you don't want to tell me, that's okay.”
“It's not that I don't want to, it's more like I don't know where to start.”
“Maybe from the beginning?” She said hesitantly and I stayed silent. “I'm sorry.”
“Why?”
“Because I shouldn't insist. Take your time, I'll be here when you'll need me.” She smiled softly and I nodded.
“I need your help on something.” As soon as I ended this sentence, she had a huge smile on her face.
“No really? What for?” I laughed and shook my head.
“Okay you know about Demi and I.” I started but Lauren cut me.
“No way? You guys broke up? Why?” She asked quickly.
“We didn't. Well, almost.” I whispered and Lauren grabbed my shoulders painfully tight.
“Okay, you need to tell me everything about this and you don't have a choice!” I smiled and nodded. “Well, long story short. She kissed someone else, I thought I was over this but I wasn't, we fought one night and everything went back hitting me straight in the face.” I said quickly and Lauren's jaw was almost touching the floor.
“Wait, what? She kissed someone else?”
“Yeah but it wasn't her fault.”
“And you believe her?” She asked, her eyebrows raised.
“Lauren, it's Demi we are talking about. Of course I believe her. It wasn't her who made the first move, it was Wilmer.” I explained and she nodded, clearly puzzled. “You know her. She wouldn't do something like that.” I said and she nodded again. “Are you going to say what you are thinking or what?” She took a deep breath.
“You are not going to like me on this one.” She started and I waited for her to continue. “I know Demi, I think she really loves you but maybe this whole thing between the two of you is wrong.” She said and I cut her directly.
“Okay I've heard enough. Listen to me. I love her, I'm living here now. Not with her, but I'm here. I know we're both in the business. I know what can happen if people don't support us. I know what we can loose. But I also know how much I love her. How much I care about her and what I'm willing to risk for her.” I said staring into Lauren's eyes and she smiled weakly.
“That was the most adorable thing I've ever heard.” She said and wrapped her arms around me again. “Are you sure you hadn't picked it from a movie?” She giggled softly and I slapped her arm.
“Nope.” I said smiling proudly and she shook her head.
“I'm sorry for what I said.”
“Don't be, I asked for you opinion.”
“You know what? Let's start this conversation over.” She said smiling. “How can I help you?”
“Well I feel like I'm kinda punishing Demi.” I said and Lauren frowned. “Don't say it.” She nodded and waited. “I just want to do something to make her feel good. I wanna put these months behind us.”
“Well, let's think of a perfect date.”
“A date? Do you really think that I can go out with her without being surrounded by paps?” I said frustrating.
“Yep, plus I think that's exactly what you two need. Just a night out, doing normal things and stop worrying.” She said smiling softly and I nodded.

Demi Lovato's POV.

“See you Naya.” I said as I hugged her. I spent my whole day talking about me joining Glee. I left the building expecting my driver to be here but he was not. I sighed and looked at my phone. I was about to call him when I saw a tiny figure walking to me. I could have recognized her between billion. I smiled and waited for her. She hugged me as soon as she had reached me.
“How are you?” Cher asked when we pulled away.
“I'm fine, tired and my head's killing me.” I said and she smiled sweetly.
“Then let's go home.” I could tell she was a bit disappointed.
“Wait, what's wrong?”
“Nothing is wrong.” She smiled and started walking but stopped as soon as she realized I was not following her. “Okay, I wanted to take you out tonight.” She said blushing and I smiled.
“Really? And where do you wanna go?” I said and walked to her.
“I thought you had a headache.” She smiled and I shook my head.
“A what? I've never said that.”
“Yeah, whatever.” She laughed. “Come on then.” She said and took my hand. We started walking and Cher was humming some songs the whole time.
“Where are we going? Can't we take a cab, call my driver or something?” I asked and she shook her head.
“Nope, we can't.” She said and headed to a little street between two buildings.
“Are you sure it's safe?” I tightened my grip on her hand and she squeezed mine.
“I wouldn't take you here if I thought it wasn't safe.” She said blushing.
“You are too cute.” I kissed her cheek and she shrugged.
“Anyway, we are here.” She said pointing to a black door.
“Why does it feel like we're in a movie and someone is going to come out this door with a gun?” I said seriously and she laughed.
“Oh come on.” She opened the door. “Are you going to go in or what?” She laughed and I nodded.
“A cinema? Really?” I asked surprised.
“Yeah.. Why? Do you wanna go home?” She asked nervously.
“No, it's quite nice actually.” I said and she gave me a weak smile which did not reach her ears. “I mean it Cher. It's perfect.”
“Thanks. Now come on, we don't wanna miss the movie, do we?”

“Dems, we should go.” Cher whispered as soon as the movie was over. I nodded and she took my hand. We walked out of the cinema by the back door again and I took Cher's arm making her stop walking. I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly.
“It was a perfect idea, I needed it.” I whispered in her ear and she kissed my cheek.
“I'm glad you liked it babe. There's somewhere else we have to go.” She said pointing to the end of the little street where a black car was parked. We walked to the car and got in. Cher said something to the driver but I could not hear what she was saying.
“Where are we going?”
“Do you honestly think I'm going to tell you?” She said winking. I had missed this. Her. “What?” She said blushing, I must have been staring at her.
“Nothing, you are amazing.” I whispered and she smiled.
“You look happy.”
“I am, with you.” This was my time to blush but when I saw her smile, I knew these words were perfect. I knew we were going to be fine.
“Okay we're here.” She said and opened the door. We got out of the car and walked into a building. She led me to the elevator and we waited in silence. As soon as the doors were opened, we walked through a small corridor and Cher stopped in front of a door. She took a key and opened it. “After you.” She said smiling and I entered. “Well, this is my flat.” She smiled and put her bag on the floor. I could not think of any word but cosy to describe this flat. It felt welcoming. I understood why she fell in love with this one.
“It's beautiful.”
“Not really, but thanks.” She said and walked to the kitchen. “Do you want something to drink?”
“Sure.”
“Tea?” She winked and I nodded. She walked back in the living room, handed me a mug and sat next to me. We sat in silence for a while, it was not awkward, it was relaxing. I started to think about how many times she came here, in LA, without telling me. The idea kind of broke my heart. “Dems?” She whispered and I looked at her.
“Yeah?”
“What were you thinking about?” She smiled softly making her look flawless.
“You.” I blushed.
“Look, I have some things I wanna tell you.” She continued and I nodded. I waited nervously for her to tell me everything. “I'm sorry for the way I treated you.”
“The way you treated me? You just took me out on a surprise date.” I said confused.
“It wasn't that great.”
“It was.” I said and sat closer to her. I grabbed her hands in mine and squeezed them tightly. “It was perfect. It was just the both of us and that's my definition of perfect.”
“You know what?” She whispered, blushing.
“Nope?”
“I love you. I'm sorry for pushing you away and being cold with you. I was scared. I was scared because I love you so freaking much and I don't want to loose you. You are the best thing that's ever been mine. I'm so proud to have you.” She blushed and bowed her head. My heart melted. I put my fingers under her chin, making her eyes met mine.
“I love you Cher Lloyd, just the way you are. You are perfect to me.” I said and kissed her gently. We spent the night on her couch, just cuddling and kissing. We eventually fell asleep with our arms wrapped around each other. When I woke up I was in a bed. I sat up, rubbed my temples and took a deep breath.

I got up but when I was about to leave the room, some pictures caught my attention. I walked towards the wall. They were pictures of Cher's family mostly and my eyes fell on one of us. We were hugging and smiling. I did not even know that this picture existed.
“I love this one.” Said Cher making me jump. “I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.” She said smiling and walked to me, hugging me from behind.
“When was it?”
“Cheryl's wedding.” She said and kissed my cheek. I turned around in her arms and pecked her lips.
“It's a beautiful picture.”
“Yeah because you're on it.”
“Yeah whatever.” She laughed and shook her head. She let go of me and took my hand. She led me to the kitchen.
“How did you sleep?”
“Great but, you carried me to your bedroom?” I asked raising a eyebrow and Cher nodded. “I still don't know how you can do things like that.” I laughed.
“Thanks!” Cher yelled and threw a slice of bread to my face.
“You are dead Lloyd.” I said and ran to her. I did not have to chase after her for a long time because I managed to catch her in the living room. We lost our balance and fell on the floor. I sat on her thighs and grabbed her arms, making sure she would not move. “Who's the boss now?”
“Anyone else but you.” She laughed and I started tickled her. “Okay okay Demi you're the boss.” She laughed, exhausted. I let go of one of her hands and she wiped the tears on her cheek.
“What did you just say?”
“I said 'Oh it's a beautiful day, let's play outside.'” She laughed and I shook my head.
“Brat.”
“Maybe.”
“You are one.”
“It's part of my charm.” She giggled and I laughed. Once our laughter died, we just stared at each other. I leaned in and kissed her tenderly. “It's not that I don't like hugging you, kissing you or having you on top of me but the floor isn't the most comfortable place to lay.” She said and I shook my head. I got up and took her hand. She got up too. “Stay here, I'm gonna grab our cups of coffee.” She pecked my lips and left the room. Everything about this morning was perfect. She was perfect. The way she laughed. The way she said stupid things just to make me laugh. The way she looked at me. The way she made me feel beautiful. The way she made me feel loved.

“Here you go.” She said and gave me the cup.
“Thanks babe.” Cher did not say anything but she was smiling the whole time. Once we were done with our coffees, she laid on the couch, resting her head on my lap and I played with her hair.
“You make me happy.” She said smiling and I pecked her lips.
“I have to tell you something Cher.” I said and she frowned, she tried to sit up but I did not let her move. “Don't worry, it's not that bad. At least, I hope it's not.”
“Tell me.” She whispered, clearly worried.
“I'm gonna play on Glee.” I said and she smiled.
“The show?”
“Yeah.” I said and she frowned at my lack of enthusiasm.
“That's great baby! But what's the matter?”
“My character.” I whispered and took a deep breath. “I'm playing a lesbian.”
“Oh.” This time, I let her go and she sat up on the couch.
“Cher?” I asked and she looked at me. I could not read the look she was giving me but I knew she was not happy with what I just said. “It's just for a show.” I whispered and she nodded.
“I know.”
“Then, what's wrong?”
“It's embarrassing.” She said blushing, she looked at me and gave me a weak smile. “I'm just jealous.” She bowed her head which made me smile. I quickly got closer to her and wrapped my arms around her.
“You don't have to be, I only want you.”
“I know it won't mean anything but you're gonna kiss someone else.” She said getting even redder.
“Oh Gosh, you are so cute.” I took her face in my hands and pecked her cheeks, forehead, nose and lips. “I love you, I love you, I love you.” She smiled and kissed me. “So, you are okay with that?”
“Of course I am. It's an amazing opportunity.” She smiled widely and I kissed her again. “And by the way, I love you too.” We were about to kiss when her phone rang.
“Go take it.” I said and she ran to it, frowning once she grabbed it.

“Hello? Oh, hi nan.” She said and left the room. I waited for her to come back and after almost an hour, she was not there. I got up and walked to the kitchen where she went to. I opened the door and her back was facing me.
“Cher?” I whispered but she did not move. I walked closer to her and rested my hand on her shoulder. “Baby?” She looked at me and I gasped. She was crying. I quickly wrapped my arms around her and stroked her back. “I'm here baby, it's okay.” I whispered and kissed her forehead.
“I'm sorry.” She said wiping her tears away.
“Don't be.” I pecked her lips and she gave me a weak smile. “What's wrong?”
“My dad's at the hospital.” She whispered and took a deep breath. “I have to go see him Dems.”
“In Malvern?” I asked and she nodded. “I'm gonna come with you.”
“What? But what about the auditions? And Glee?”
“Don't worry about that. You need me and I wanna be there for you. You're the only thing that matters to me.” I said and she smiled again. A more genuine smile this time.
“Are you really gonna come with me?”
“I am.” I said and kissed her. I hugged her tighter. I wanted to be there for her. I had to, no matter what was coming. She would not get through this alone.
