Chapter 6
Triberus's Point Of View
Fear. I saw pure fear in my beloved Ílios's eyes. I'm a monster now. I couldn't deal with the sight of her scared of me. I had to save her. If I did t step in front of the horned witch, Arcanum, she would of put Ílios in this body. She will never love me again. I'm stuck in this body forever never to return into my human form always a feared creature of this kingdom, Ficta Somnium.
The griffin that is always on King Potens window sill still sits there guarding me making sure I don't make a move to escape. Every time I take a step forward he screeches at me and my two other heads growl. Making me whimper back.
'I'm saving Ílios this way. I'm in this situation not her.' I keep telling myself this over and over again.
"Well well, that was a brave act Triberus." King Poten says as he walks over to me. I let out a growl. But my other to heads give out a terrifying growl making sure I know they are in control not me. "Now Triberus you wouldn't want anything to happen to Ílios so I recommend you sit there like a good pup and do as I tell you."
With that I bow my head a little bit.
"Good job boy" he says as if I'm a dog... Oh wait.
I hear a deep voice start talking. "We'll keep him in order boss." I look over to my right it's my second head talking. What?!! Another deep voice comes from my left.
"Ya the girl will never love him when where done." The left head says. What?! I'm sharing a body where I'm not in control? This is insane.
King Potent gives one of his sickening smile. "Your free to go boys. Make sure my daughter rejects him and she regrets her decision to leave. And give Mare Equio a little.. Gift." He laughs as my body starts to run. We sprint our paws hitting the ground.
Where running full speed at a window! Where going to die. That's a least a 50 foot drop. We're gonna die!
We duck our heads as we get to the window. The glass shatters and we start to fall. The other heads are laughing as we plummet to our deaths. When we land I hear a revolting crack of our ankle breaking. I yelp in pain while the other two heads just laugh to off.
"Don't worry pup we heal faster then most monsters" the one on the right said.
"It hurts you idiots! We could of died and you just laugh it off!" I yell as best I could.
The head on the left replies "I don't see what the princess sees in you. Your weak and it's about time someone changes that." He laughs and walks over to the tree and kicks it as hard as he can with the broken ankle and it makes a stomach churning crack of the ankle going back in place.
"Let's pay the princess and our old friend Mare a visit shall we brother?" Left head says in a malevolent way.
"Yes I am!" Right head replies with a evil laugh.
With that we venture through the woods. It feels like we have been walking for hours with my ankle still broken or "our" ankle still broken. We finally get to the pond and it's almost dark and I see a big horse with scales and a huge fin as back legs.
My two other heads growl and I look around and see Ílios. She looks beautiful even though her hair is all fallen out of the braid and her cheek is caked with a streak of dirt. I would love to brush the lone strand of hair out of her face and kiss her. I love her so much but now I'm stuck in this body. She doesn't know I'm not in control what if these two big heads hurt her. She will think it's me. Oh no.
A growl erupts in my chest until all three of them quickly turn to us. The aquatic mammal jumps in front of them.
"Nice to meet you again Mare Equo" my right head says. So this is Mare Equo. Good he will protect Ílios and Luna. I know they will be safe now.
"Wish I could say the same about you." Mare says.
My heads growl. I look over at Ílios and she looks like she's about to cry.
"Triberus?" Her little voice comes out as a whisper but I heard it and so did my other heads and they growl at her. I don't like how they act at her.
I open my mouth to yell for her. But the two other heads voice's show up in my head and tell me they cut off my voice so now I can't talk. I try running to her when they least expect it. I get a few feet before they pull me back. Ílios takes a step back in fear that I might hurt her. I don't want her to think that.
"What did he do to you Triberus?" She asks again.
I try to speak again but they won't let me.
"Leave you mutts I don't want you on my pond." The horse says.
My right head laughs at that and says "Now now that's not how you treat and old friend." We take a threatening step forward but the horse keeps his ground.
I hear my heads forming a plan in the back of my mind and I catch one word
Attack
With that they jump on Mare Equo. I hear Ílios and Luna scream for me to stop but I can't stop them because they are controlling this body. I am only a prisoner.
When we are done Mare lays there wounded. I try walking over to Ílios and surprisingly they let me I get close enough where she could reach out and touch me. She looking a me in the eyes then at the wounded horse and back at me. She says
"You monster! How could you Triberus! How could you! How could I have ever loved you!" She's in tears now and I nudge her hand with my snout. Her smell filling my nose. She takes her hand away and pushes my head away.
I look up at her with pleading eyes. I open my mouth to say something and my heads let me speak.
"I had no control Ílios. I promise I love you!" With that I turn and let the other two heads run my off to the darkest place in the forest.... Domum Malí.
