Luna spent her day pondering over what Mare had said. Glacies...real? The thought was so alien to her, fresh in her head. Could she be real?
Shortly after her initial conversation with Mare Equo, Ilios awoke. She didn'y know about her mermaid transformation, mind you, and was shocked (as one would imagine) when she did. Her first reaction was to laugh, and that it was just a prank. A poorly timed prank. But as the morning grew old, it dawned on the ex-princess. Her legs would not come back. This wasn't reversible.
She was a mermaid.
And it was then were Luna realized. Her sister was absulutely crushed, and if Glacies was real or not- it was her only chance to uplift her sister's spirit and change things around. To the way they were before.
And so, as soon as the sun released her fingers from the sky, Luna was off. Her violet eyes cast on the brightest star in the sky- the North Star. She strode past the castle, keeping her eyes trained on the ground. Over the hills, and she slowly noticed things changing around her. Developing. The air was cold now, and the plush of grass beneath her boots was changing into the crunch of ice and snow.
The star was almost over her head now, and when that happened she woud be near the famed Glacies's lair. It was said to be a cave, some said a castle.
These thoughts danced in her head, before she was inerupted by something wizzing past her ear. An arrow. It pierced the tree behind her with a sickening crack as ice splintered in every direction.
"Hello? Whos there?' her trembled voice spilled from her lips like a frightened child's. Only a crunch of snow followed.
"I pose no harm. Please..dont hurt me."
Again, a slam of something on snow. Ice grazed against her leg. It was close. Luna whirled around, her breath hitching in the deepest corner of her throat.
She was instantly faced with a gorgeously handsome man, young and chiseled. A beanie rested upon his hair, which swept across his head in curls of brown and gold. He narrowed his dark eyes at her, bow strung threateningly.
"I-Ive come to see Glacies. Thats all."
He scoffed, stepping back in amuesment. She could now see his ful figure. A handsome torso, tan and muscular lead into the body of a beast. He had hooves, for heaven's sake!
This man was a centaur.
"Of course you are. You think you can get away that easy?" he growled at her, placing his large hand on the back of her head with a push. His skin was ice cold.
"Lets go. No one tries to harm the queen and goes away unpunished."
