Alfred chuckled. "Yeah, man. You know what? I can't want to get back to my girl. I can't wait to hold my girl and my baby. I can't wait to see what it feels like to be a father. I can't wait until I get to be there for my kid. I can't wait to see that ring on (Name)'s finger, or to wake up to her beautiful face in the morning. So don't you die on me, you communist bastard, or I'll bash your head in. I don't want to be the one telling Chun-yan you're not coming home."
Ivan grumbled under his breath. "Same for me. I'm not going back to tell (Name) you're not coming back. If you make me do that, Alfred, I swear I'll stomp and piss on your grave. She'll murder me with her mood swings."
"Dude, don't even joke about that! You know that's not going to happen!" The American sat on the couch as he laughed, then he groaned when he talkie died. "Fuck!" He hissed under his breath, and dropped his talkie. He looked up to across the room at the door.
Roamers were on the other side, groaning, growling, clawing at the door and practically piling on top of each other to get it. "At this rate, it'll break before dawn." Little did Alfred know, the noise attracted more and more Roamers, adding too much pressure to the poor, weak door.
Around the highest point of the moon, Alfred had just finished cleaning his gun. He heard wood snapping, so he looked over at the door. The door was bending under the weight of the building of the Roamers, and finally snapped.
"Oh, shit!" He yelped, dashing across the room and leaping at the window, which then shattered in impact. "Damn it!" He hissed under his breath, flames of pain bursting in his ankle. Roamers started pushing each other out the window, so he scurried off as quick as he could with his aching ankle. The noise from the hotel kept the Biters on the street busy with that and gave him time to stay in the shadows and hurry through. Alfred squeezed his bicep, blood seeping through his fingers from the open wound he got from the glass of the window. He managed to find a spot safe of Biters and sat down. He took a gauze wrap out of one of his pockets in his cargo pants, and wrapped the deep cut. "Great. More crap for Tina. Fantastic." Once he finished wrapping he felt his ankle and sighed in relief. "Just a sprain."
Moans and groans started to fill the silence, so he heaved himself up to his feet and started limping. A few straggling Roamers came a little too close, so he buried his dagger in their head, and left their bodies. "Hopefully the commie can find this lame trail and figure it out." He grumbled, limping up to a park after a few hours of wandering around.
Abruptly, a gunshot went off from the park, causing Alfred to jump in his spot. He hurried over, hoping it was Ivan, although was slightly worried at the one shot. Then his worry ceased as he approached a body on the ground, head bleeding from the new wound. Alfred sighed, crouching beside the fresh corpse and setting his gun down. "Sorry, dude. Sucks out here, I know. Maybe it wasn't for you. Maybe if I was a moment earlier, we could've been on our way to my home, and you'd know there is something better out there. But, thanks for gettin' yourself in the head. Now I won't have to rekill you. That'd be bothersome."
Alfred took his glasses off and rubbed his face. "Hopefully I can get home to (Name). She's what's keeping me sane. I'm gonna propose to her, ya' know. I don't know if I'm gonna do it big or small, but I'm going to do it. Then I'm going to hold my kid. Man, I hope it's a girl. Dunno why... I just like the idea of a daughter. One just like her mother. Beautiful, smart, and badass." The American chuckled, then shot to his feet hearing approaching groans. "Damn. Well, thanks for doing this. You may have saved my life by stalling these beasts. Hope you find something better in the next life, buddy." Alfred hurried off, unknowingly leaving his glasses and gun.
