Ashara dazed and startled picked the note and read it,
Princess Ashara Arii, Daughter of King Cormag Arii ll,
You have now come to the age to return home, to the isle of Ariies. Many believe the island no longer exists and that was what we wanted. Your father desperately needs your help. All your questions will be answered. There is a map to return the Ariies, reveal it and this letter to no one. In the next night, close to the gates of the Starks castle there will be a wagon with two men, they will be posing as chicken sellers. Say to them, The Silver Serpent is a great Warrior. They sould them say, He is a mighty and strong warrior. The will lead to a ship that will take you across the Dead Snake Sea and bring you back to the thrones of Ariies.
Signed,
Lord Dand McRae.
Ashara thought Robb was playing a joke on her but she knew in her heart his was no joke. They letter said that she would see her father, that was her one and only dream in life. Her father, he was real. She had no idea what the letter meant of Princess and King. She knew somewhere deep down in her soul she knew this was to change her and everyone around her.
During next day Jon kept smiling at her and her to him, Robb and others were suspicous and asked but Ashara told them it was a joke, and they believed it.
Night came and Ashara packed in a sachel her wool cloak, assorted books, quills, the map of Ariies and a pair of Jon's old trousers and tunics. She had her sword, who she name Wolf Eye, and her bow and pack full of arrows. She couldn't just leave Jon without telling him anything, so she left him a note;
My Dearest Jon,
I must leave there is something I must do for myself and my people. If I ever see you I will tell you anything. Never let anything hold you back.
Your Love,
Ashara Arii
It was short but got to the point. She slide the note under his chamber door.
She went out to the stables as quietly as she could go and got Horas, her silver Stallion, and trotted to the gates. The guards let her by with no question, she was a 'part' of the Stark household.
Shortly down the road there was a chicken waggon with two men, a young one and an older one. They both looked up at her as she walked up to them on Horas.
She cleared her throat,"The Silver Serpent is a great warrior."
The eyes of both men popped, they both knelt to the ground and the older man replied, "He is a mighty and strong warrior." Then the younger said, "Your highness, Lord Dand McRae and my father Frang McRae, at your services." After a long moment of silence they both rose.
"Come your highness, we must make haste," Frang McRae said helping Ashara onto Horas.
No one said a thing until the group arries at the western shore where a large wooden ship was docked.
"Here we are," the young Dand McRae said as he hopped off the waggon of chickens.
"We must make haste," Frang McRae said quietly.
"Let me help you your highness," Dand said attempting to help Ashara off Horas.
"I'm ok," Ashara said rather harshly as she jumped down with ease.
Lord Dand and Frang lead her onto the ship, over the gangplank. Suddenly one young boy grabbed Horas' reins from her hands. Horas let out a scared whinny.
"What are you doing," Ashara harshly asked the boy.
"I thought you would want someone to take him up for you, your highness," he said quietly.
"I am fine, I can handle it," she replied and took the reins and boarded the ship.
After Dand had lead her to her quarters she settled in. The cabin was rather small, a bed and a small chest filled the room, there was only enough room to walk forward and turn around.
Wow, she thought, I am leaving all I know to see my father and all from a letter that flew through my window, and now I'm on a ship headed towards the answers to my question that I've had for my years of life.
When the cabin got to stuffy even with the window open she decided to go up to the top deck. The deck had few people but she recognized Lord Dand McRae and his father, Frang McRae, talking together. She walked over to them and they bowed to her and Frang bowed and said,"Your highness."
"Lord Dand," she asked.
"Yes," he looked up.
"Can I talk to you?"
Dand glared at his father who walked to the other side of the boat.
"What do you need highness," he asked politely.
"Please Lord Dand, Ashara is fine," she said and Dand smiled cheekily.
"There is something I need help understanding." Dand gave a reassuring look.
"What is the deal with the your highness and all that?"
"You really don't know," he asked and Ashara nodded.
"There is a tale of Lord Wynn Arii, King of Serpents, the man who charmed the Silver Serpent, have you heard of it?"
"Yes I told my adpoted sister it all the time it was her favourite. I always thought it was myth, a tale people told there children."
"Your family name is Arii so is King Wynn's, it's no coincidence, the story was real, you are a decendent of King Wynn. Your father is the King of Ariies, and that would make you-"
"The princess," she finished the sentence.
"Indeed."
Ashara breathed out and looked out to the dark water of the night.
"Why did I not live in Ariies, but in the Stark stronghold?"
"That's a question only your father would have the answer to, as well as many others."
"Thank you Lord Dand."
"Dand is fine," he smiled, "Anything else?"
"What is Ariies like," she asked excitedly.
"Well Ariies is very beautiful and much warmer than Winterfell, the capitol, Oustuk, is so full of life. Many people make their living farming or fishing. Ariies is very abundent in resources. Ther is a mountain, Hahi, has many differnt types of minerals, but the mountain itself is so beautiful."
"I'd love to see it," Ashara sighed.
"One day you will, and in Ariies is different than Westeros in a way that bastards can inherit their father's name and fortune, if they have one."
"Interesting."
"Ineed it is Ashara, well when you get to Ariies all will be revealed. Until tomorrow," Dand bowed and turned and left to his cabin.
Ashara stayed on the deck until she got tired, she went to the makeshift stable where Horas was and fell asleep right beside him.
