As the northern wind blew cold air on the small party Ashara felt lonley. Sure she had Robb, Kukuri, and other army men. She wanted Jon with her, her love, her protector. At times she thought of the ladies in the south getting swooned by flocks of men and Ashara used to think it would never happen to her, but them came Jon. The one and only man that truely loved her. She was glad they married in Winterfell, without her father. It made Ashara gritt her teeth at the tought of Cormag choosing who she was to marry, sometimes she wanted to punch the man, but whether she liked it or not, it was her father.
Ashara was never needy, she always took care of herself, and was always independent. She felt more like she had to prove to be like a real wife, and royal.
The group was led by Robb and Ser Rodrik, then behind them was Theon, then she was behind him, behind her was Dommeric and Oscar. Dommeric and Oscar had been only low ranking members in the Ariies military on the island, but Ashara knew they would be promoted under her rule. But, for now they would be her right hand men, like Ser Rodrik was to the Starks.
Robb had a plan for their ride, no one was to wear formal garments identifing them to any noble house. He had a back story for the group. They were a group of traders headed to port to pick up supplies from their supplier. Ser Rodrik was the head of the group, Ashara's 'grandfather', Robb was her brother, Oscar and Dommeric were bothers and cousins to Robb and Ashara. And Theon, was their squire. He hated the ideas but it was a good cover up, it should keep them safe.
Everyone was talking quietly to themselves, Oscar to Dommeic, and Theon to Robb and Rodrik. Kukuri was in a bucket tied to Horas.
"Child are you ok," the serpent asked, it had been a while since the two had talked.
"I am ok," Ashara replied wrapping her cloak around her as colder air swept around them.
She could her him swim with the water swish in the bucket, as the horses led on.
"I can feel your tenson, something is on your mind, it is bothering you," Kukuri hissed as Ahara just kept looking forward facing the wind.
"If you really want to know, I am worried about Jon, Jany, and all the other people this is and going to affect. This rebellion, I don't even know if it is worth wild, if it is even going to work," Ashara breathed heavily as the cool air stung her face turning her nose and cheeks a rosy pink.
"Ashara, you always seem to forget, I am a magic serpent, with powers," the snake replied trying to bring her mood up.
Ashara was just about to reply when Robb stopped the group. She could hear rumbling in the distance, but had not a clue what it was. Horas' ears twitched around and then flattened, something was coming, something bad, but what.
Ashara was about to ask Robb if it was safe to head on when an arrow wizzed by the group and embeded itself in Oscar's left shoulder. The young man let out a howl of pain and dropped off his horse. Thundering hooves came through the trees like wildfire, ten men on horse back, faces covered with scarves and cloaks surrounded them.
"Sister with me," Robb shouted as he drew his sword and steadied his horse.
Ashara drew her bow and loaded it Horas at the ready. The masked men laughed and cheered and they trotted around the group. Everyone in Ashara's party was at the ready, even Oscar with is sword drawn. The arrow was still sticking out of his shoulder and Ashara could see blood trickling from the wound, but Oscar maintained focus.
"Who are you and what do you want," Ashara commanded loudly holding her stance on Horas.
They didn't reply all the masked men was keep circling them like they were the prey.
"You best tell ma sister what she wants, or there will be hell to pay," Robb stated trying to keep our cover. The men still didn't answer.
Just as Ashara was about to let an arrow lose, one man on his horse stopped in his tracks infront of her.
"Ashara," he spoke, his voice was familiar but Ashara was not going to take any foolish chances.
"Who is this you speak of," she bellowed not wanting to give any information away.
"Stand down and dismount men," the man who had stopped his horse and asked her stated.
All the men stopped their horses and followed the now what Ashara thought was the leader.
"Ashara," the leader spoke,"I know it's you. The etching in the bow gives it away, I know Horas anywhere."
"What is it to you," Dommeric pointed his sword at the man.
"Remove your hood, now," Ashara commanded as she withdrew the tenson on her bow.
"As you wish," the man stated and he sheathed his sword. He unraveled the scarf from his face slowly and withdrew his hood from his head. Ashara gasped at the man infront of her.
Dand McRae.
