The scouts had informed Ashara that the Lannisters had sent renforcments and held onto the River Fort, it would be a great advantage to hold the castle.
The army waited along the west side of the fort so that the Lannisters would not be able to go anywhere but east into the river. The men were all set, waiting for the moment to strike.
Then, as Ashara and her group of men lay upon a small hill, looking at the River Fort, she saw her men to the left of her let lose fire arrows into the compound.
As the arrows landed something, hay, caught fire as did some soliders. There were screams and shouts from inside the compound, then to Ashara's surprise the front gates opened and some of the soliders ran out to investigate the cause.
The as the river fort soilders came out Ashara stood up put the visor of her helm down and snuck back to Horas who was just a couple of metres away. Some of her group followed her lead and mounted up. Dommeric nodded to her and they started to charge. All the men, ran for followed on horse.
And at that time as Ashara watched men being killed by other men, and arrows and swords clashing. She knew this was her destiny.
She let Kuhkuri lose, and her transformed into his giant form. He dove onto the fort and screeched he painful cry, and out of his mouth came steaming hot water. Followed by even more screams.
Ashara rode in her bow drawn and fired at men. She heard their mangled cries, and their limp bodies. Her first man she ever killed by her hand. Ashara shot down at least a dozen men, firing here and there. She saw as many of her men were sliced in half, and limps taken off. Blood everywhere.
At last the battle was finished, the rebellion had won, but there was a cost. Out of her 2,500 men, only 2,000 remained. Many Stark banner men whoum she saw as a child and as she grew up were dead. Men Ashara thought unbeatable, dead or seriously injured.
Men lay dead on the battle grounds, a horrible sight.
The cost was not without a price. Horas had taken an arrow to the neck. It had not killed him, only nicked him. But, his silver coat become dribbled in blood. Ashara had taken care of him the best of her abilities, but both Oscar and Dommeric had advised her to ride a different horse until Horas was healed.
Now she rode a large black horse, around the compound. The castle was of a fair size, much smaller than the Arries castle and Winterfell. But it was a place suitable for a small sub-noble house.
She had sent 100 of her soilders back to main camp while she stayed until a response came. Ashara sent a raven back to main camp and Winterfell, informing them of her victory and that she would stay and the River fort until the time came to move on.
The next day as she sat in a bedchamber, two ravens came, the first from main camp, from Jon. The second from Winterfell, from Ned.
Dear Ashara,
I am happy to hear you are safe, for one, and that you suceeded. Robb, the Mother of Dragons, Loiola and I are travelling with a part of our army to collect you. We have sent a raven to King's Landing about our rebellion, and have not heard any word. I advise that you send one to that prick Joffery, and give him a peiece of your mind. I miss you dearly, and will be with you soon.
Yours, Jon
Then she read the second;
Ashara,
I am most pleased and proud of you, for everything. Jany is doing well, she informed us that her name day is coming up shortly. She misses you dearly, but Jany and Arya are always together having a wonderful time.
I am coming down to the River Fort in the fort night to vist and help in any way I can.
Ned Stark
Ashara looked over the letter again, and smiled in happiness. Her 'father' was coming, it felt like ages since she last saw Ned, and she was overjoyed. Ashara kissed both papers, but felt something else.
Behind Ned's letter, was another. It read;
Mummy,
It's Jany. I miss you so much. I wish you could be here for my name day, but I know you and Father are bringing peace. When you come back we will all be together and have my name day party.
I love you,
Jany
Tears slipped from Ashara's eyes as she finished the letter. Jany had written her a letter, she thought and held it close to her chest.
Suddenly a knock came from the door, Ashara quickly wiped the tears away wanting to look presentable to anyone who came in.
"Enter," she spoke lifting her chest and head up.
Dommeric and Oscar entered in their Ariies armor and traditonal maroon red capes. It had been the first tme after the battle since she had seen the two.
Oscar shifted his weight from his left to his right and held his helmet in his left hand. Dommeric was standing straight with his helmet also in his left hand.
"Your highness," Dommeric spoke as he bowed, Oscar following is lead.
"How many times do I have to tell you two, I hate formalities, call me Ashara," she said smiling.
"As you wish your highn- I mean Ashara," Dommeric spoke straighening his posture.
"Please take a seat it has been a wild couple of days," Ashara asked showing them to two chairs by a small grey stone fireplace.
Oscar reluctantly sta on the nearest chair, while Dommeric hestitated before taking the Princess' offer.
"Now," Ashara started clasping her hands together, "How did you two become soilders in the Ariies army."
Surprisingly Oscar was the first one to answer, "Dommeric and I have been friends for as long as we can I can remember. We pretended to be knights of your father's army and practice with braches as swords."
"Where did you grow up," Ashara asked intrigued.
"The West, m'lady, on a fishing village," Oscar answered.
"Well what made you join the Kight's Guard, it is different from Cormag's King's Guard."
"Well," Oscar muttered,"I love a girl, and couldn't bring myself to leaving her and to never being with her m'lady. But I had to for my family, you see my sister had gotten very sick and needed and expensive herb to cure."
"What's her name?"
"Iris m'lady."
Ashara's eyes widened at Oscar mention of the name. Iris was the name of her handmaiden.
"Does Iris have Long striaight light brown hair, and hazel eyes, with a freckle on her cheek," Ashara asked shifting her sitting position.
"Yes, why, do you know her," Oscar asked looking up hopefully at Ashara.
"Well, Iris is my handmaiden," Ashara said looking up at a happy Oscar, "She was with me at main camp, I don't know how you two couldn't have seen each other."
It looked as if Oscar couldn't contain his excitment, he looked at his hands and spoke, "I can't believe it, she is closer than I ever thought."
Ashara could see throught his wavy blonde hair, a smile she had only seen on two people.
Jon Snow and Dan McRae.
