The Captain of the ship informed Ashara that the way to the port near Winterfell was another day's journey. When the sun rose and the crew and some of the army came up for their breakfast meal Ashara was going to announce Jon and her engagment. She got up and clicked her fork and glass together and the mess went silent.
She cleared her troat and began, "You are all brave courageous men to follow me and I feel that I can share this piece of news with you." She looked over to Jon and he smiled and nodded.
"You all know Jon Snow," she said and men cheered and some shouted his name, "Well.... Jon and I..... are..... getting married." There was a silence and then a huge cheer of happy men arose. Some of the soliders patting Jon on the back and pushing him towards Ashara. When he got up to her many of the men started to chant, kiss, kiss, kiss.
"Should we give them what they want," Jon whispered into her ear.
"Why not," she shrugged and their lips met and more jubilant cheers came.
Ashara was on the top deck letting the wind blow through her hair and feeling the cold tingles of the winds on her face when Jon came beside her and cleared his throat. He was holding a long package wrapped in a grey blanket.
"I have something for you," he stated holding the large package out.
"I can see that," Ashara replied smiling and then Jon set the package on the deck and opened it. Ashara gasped and smiled as she looked on her beloved sword and bow and full sheath of arrows. She had forgotten about them, she had no time to practice or use them.
"Oh Jon, thank you," she whispered happily and hugged him.
"Your welcome," he breathed. As they broke their embrace the pair heard a rustling coming from being a barrel.
Jon held his sword out, "Who goes there."Ashara heard a small voice, "Mother." And she motioned for Jon to put his sword away.
"Janyance," she stated and the little girl came running out and hugged Ashara."Mommy," she cried.
"Shhh, it's ok," she said picking her up in an embrace, "Aren't you suppost to be with Lady Mornan in Ariies."
"Well we can't sent her back now can't we," Jon stated smiling. Jany turned her head and a smile broke out on her face as she saw Jon.
"Daddy," she smiled and the three embraced.
"If ye three are done, we got a problem," the captain shouted. The winds had picked up and the water had gotten choppyer.
"Jon take Jany to my chambers and then come back as quickly as you can," she said. Jon nodded, took Jany and ran to her chambers.
"What is the problem Captain," she asked now standing beside him.
"A mighty big storms headed our way, best go below deck till it pasts," he stated holding onto his cap as the wind gusted. Waves started crashing over the ship's ralings and saliors were rushing to the masts and ropes.
Jon just came up from below deck when a huge wave hurdeld it's self over the railing taking Ashara with it, down into the dark cold waters.
Ashara's whole world went black and the last thing she saw was Jon running towards her and then being held back as she sank down into the sea.
Ashara regained her sight, but she was in no place familiar, it was still dark around her. A large shape came into view she couldn't recognize it, but when the figure came closer it was larger than any boat.
She was about to scream when the moster said, "Save your voice you shall need it."
"Who are you and where am I," she whispered, and not able to make out what the figure was.
"I am the Silver Serpent now back from my age long rest to help you fulfill an ancient prophecy," it hissed, "And you are underwater in the ocean, I put a spell on you so that you could breathe in water for the time."
"But the Silver Serpent was just a legend sung by saliors."
"No I left your ancestor to rest again to help a bastard princess to free all men." The Serpent came into view now, it was a towering figure. It had green and silver scales and small fins on it's back.
"Me," Ashara questioned the serpent.
"Yes, you have destiny that involves me. I have aged but I now posess the power the survive on land for a period of time."
There was a silence between them.
"Why do you think your father sent you away," the serpent hissed, "So you wouldn't be able to fulfill the legend. He didn't want you to be that Princess."
"So that's why he sent me away."
"Indeed, and now I pledge myself to you to help you free your people from fear and free all men of injust rule in Westros."
"What is your name," Ashara questioned.
"Silver Serpent," he answered.
"No I mean your real name, not the legend name."
"Khukuri," he replied.
"Khukuri, how do I get back to my ships?"
"I can help you with that, hold onto my back."
Ashara swam over to and held onto a ridge on his back.
"You might want to hold your breath," Khukuri suggested and some water entered Ashara's mouth.
