Chapter 16: Preparation

Marie's POV

I tapped my foot as I waited for Jacob... What's taking him so long?

I thought of what happened so far... Why did Hunter hate us so much?

Well I suppose we beat him in getting the Leaf of Life but STILL!

Jacob then burst out of the door with lots of clatter in his arms.

In the sun, I could see him properly now. He had dark brown hair, purple eyes and dragon characteristics: a spiky tail, dragon ears, horns and wings which were all in the color of red. He was wearing a blue tee, jeans and cyan rubber shoes.

"Here! Wear these!" He said giving me an iron helmet and boots.

"Thanks..." I said looking at the helmet. "But how am I supposed to hear with my zebra ears covered?"

"There's a hole at the top, see?" Jacob said pointing at the helmet.

I looked but there was no holes to be found.

"But there's no ho-"

"It's called magic," the boy cut me off.

I placed the helmet on my head and to my surprise, holes were magically made specially for my ears... Incredible!

"Oh okay... That's cool!" I said to myself.

After looking at the incredible helmet, I put on the boots and looked for Jacob... Where was he?

"Yo Jacob? Where you at?" I yelled like a gangster.

He ran off... Somewhere.

"BOO!" A voice made me jump from behind.

"WHAHAHAAAAAA!" I yelled as I fell to the floor.

That someone was Jacob who was wearing a really scary mask. He was also wearing the same armour as me, the helmet and the boots. Behind the mask I could see him laughing.

"Haha very funny you pesky dragon!" I said sarcastically as I stood up.

"Hehe! We'll use these to surprise them! They'll never see us coming!" The boy said.

Suddenly, something tugged at my shirt. I turned around to see a dog happily wagging it's tail.

"Moony!" I said stroking his fur. "What are you doing here?"

"I borrowed Moony from Ranie to come with me up the mountain. That's why he's here," Jacob explained.

"Cool! Now let's rescue the animals!" I said standing up.

Jacob gave me a scary mask for myself and made Moony wear one too.

Then the dragon lead me to the highest, steepest peak of the mountain.

"Here, take this," he said as he gave me a parachute. "When you think it's time, pull this string here!"

"What for?" I asked.

"For this!" Jacob said as he kicked me off the edge.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" I screamed for my life as I fell down, way down.

"DON'T WORRY! YOU'LL BE FINE!" Jacob yelled.

"IM GONNA KILL YOU!" I yelled back.

Then I realised I had a parachute with me... Maybe I should enjoy falling for once.

I spread out my arms and legs and enjoyed the breeze.
