Chapter 17: Reunited

Ranie's POV

"RANIE!" Jacob yelled as he ran.

"Jacob? Is that really you?!" I shouted with tears in her eyes.

When we got to each other, we hugged like there was no tomorrow.

Marie walked over to Leonora and gave her a hi-five.

"Hey hey!" Marie said to her.

"Where have you been?" She asked.

"Well... I told Hunter our plan to stop him..." I said with a smirk.

"WHAT?! YOU W-W-I-WHAT?!"

"Haha, I didn't," I said quietly.

"Oh... BUT STILL YOU SCARED ME!"

I broke free from the hug and turned to my other friends

"Guys," Marie said to us. "Let's go get Maxx now."

"Okay," I turned to my brother. "Jacob you can share my horse."

"Moony," the boy said. "Just follow us."

"WAIT!" Marie yelled. "Ranie, our swords! We forgot them!"

"Oh yea! I totally forgot about them! Let's go get it my zebra friend." I replied.

"Just wait here, we'll just get something." Marie said to the group.

Marie got on her horse and pulled me onto it. Then we trotted back to the cabin.

"Good thing I remembered!" Marie beamed.

"Thank you..." I said. "I don't want to loose the gifts Isaac gives us, they're to... To..."

"Valuable."

"Yes, valuable."

As we approached the cabin, Marie said "I'll just get it, you stay here."

"Okay." I said as she patted the horse.

She quickly dashed into the cabin, got our swords which were at the foot part of our beds, got two apples from the kitchen then dashed out of the house.

"Here," my friends said, giving me my golden sword.

"Thanks," Ireplied.

"Do you want an apple?" Marie asked taking a bite our of hers

"No thanks... I'm not hungry."

"Okay then." she said getting on the horse. "I thought you were always hungry?"

"Eh... Not now."

"Okay then."

We then galloped to the group.

"Who wants an apple?" Marie asked as we neared the group.

"Oh! I do!" Jacob yelled.

"CATCH!" she said throwing the other apple at him.

Jacob caught the apple with ease and said "Thanks Marie!"

Jacob got on my horse and Leonora got on Isaac's horse, then we galloped past the mountain and into the winter woods. That was where Maxx lived.

"It's getting... Really cold." I said as we approached the snowy forest.

"I don't mind. It's cold on the mountains anyways." Jacob grinned.

"Well too bad guys," Leonora said. "I like cold."

I got off Marie's horse and gave something to Moony. The dog wagged his tail and started to sniff the ground.

"What's Moony doing?" Leonora asked following the happy dog.

"I made him smell Maxx's token. We'll find her in notime!" I said.

We followed Moony around the snowy forest for awhile until the dog barked loudly and signalled us to follow him.

"I think Moony's got Maxx's scent!" Leonora said excitedly.

"I hope so," Jacob said.

We followed the speedy dog to a small house covered in snow.

We got off our horses and approached the house.

"I don't feel really good..." I said to Jacob.

"What's the problem?" the dragon asked.

"My head kinda hurts..."

Jacob patted me on the head and said "Feel better sister."

I smiled.

We neared the snow-covered house and tried opening the door.

"It's jammed!" Jacob said, kicking the door.

"Hello, is somebody there?" A muffled voice said.

"Who's there?" Leonora asked.

"It's me, Maxx," It's said.

"MAXX! It's Marie, Ranie, Leonora and Jacob!" I yelled.

"HI GUYS!" Maxx said. "CAN YOU PLEASE HELP MEE?!"

"Way ahead of you!" Leonora said as she was conjuring up a snow shovel.

Brown and grey pixels were brought together to make that item. Once it was done, Leonora tossed the shovel to me.

"Start digging," she said.

"Moony, help me!" I said as I started digging the snow near the doorway.

The dog ran to me and started doggie-digging the snow.

As the shovels were made, the faster the snow went away.

"Just a little more digging..." I said to myself.

After it seemed like, forever, we finally managed to get rid o the snow.

With my hopes up, I tried to open the door again.

"Great," I said. "It's locked."

"Locked? Oh sorry just a moment," Maxx said.

Finally, the door opened.

"MAXX!" Marie yelled as she hugged her.

"Hello guys!" she said.

Maxx was wearing an orange sweater, grey jeans and brown shoes. She had brown hair and dark green eyes. Her animal is a husky so she had fluffy husky ears and tail.

"Ranie, you don't look good. Are you feeling okay?" The husky asked me.

"No," I replied. "I don't feel good."

"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Get inside where it's warm!" Maxx said as she shoved us into the door.
