Lucas
"Keep staring and she'll put a restraining order against you."
I quickly divert my gaze away from Victoria to the inside of my locker. I've been secretly sneaking glances at Victoria after every class period. We don't share any classes so far but she's everywhere I am.
I hear Carter laugh. "You're embarrassing yourself."
"You're just jealous your heart is made of stone." Julian comments.
If Julian and Victoria are neighbors than he must know a thing or two. I turn around and grasp Julian's shoulder. "Tell me about her." I tighten my hands on his shoulders.
Julian frowns. "I actually don't know much ab - "
"Tell me."
"I said I don't kn - "
"Julian." I harden my eyes.
"Fine, calm down." Julian rolls his eyes. He hums and scratches his neck, eyes rolling to the back of his head. "She was in eighth grade when I met her so... she is... a junior... like us." He stops to think.
I tap my foot impatiently. "What else?" A pit of excitement grows inside my stomach.
Julian gives me a look. "I can't think if you're rushing me."
"Whatever." I bite my lip and quickly glance behind me.
Her locker is across from mine, a bonus that will allow me the opportunity to sneak glances at her while I work up the courage to ask her out. I'd like to think I got game but the truth is, I babble out the first thing that comes to mind.
"She spent most of the summer reading books and hanging out with her friends."
"That's all?" I frown.
"I didn't pay much attention to her." Julian shrugs. "The only reason I remember her is because of rumors surrounding her."
"Rumors?" Carter's mouth turns into an evil grin. I think his ears perked up.
"This is all I'll say." Julian sits up. "Everyone knows you're a gossip. I don't want you to torture the new girl." He shakes his head disapprovingly.
"Lucas is asking her out. I think that's torture enough." Carter jumps out of his seat, dodging the punch I was aiming toward his stomach.
Victoria's hot and I intend to ask her out. I think she'll say "yes" because why not? Yes, I babble but I am cute. But how should I ask her? Should I make my voice more masculine? Or do I ask her with an uninterested voice?
So many ways to choose!
"Are you going to ask her out?" Carter makes a face when I nod. "There are so many hot girls here and you want to be tied down? She's not even popular, she'll bring down your status." Carter says while we walk to the cafeteria.
