Lucas
"Is this your house?" Victoria's mouth drops as I park my car on the driveway.
"Um, yeah."
I guess you could say it's a little impressive. It's not the biggest one in the block but anyone living in the block has more than enough money to live comfortably.
"What do your parents do?"
"They work at a law firm." Well, they own a law firm but I'd rather not say. People tend to ask for favors when they realize my parents are lawyers.
Her lips press together into a tight line. "Cool." She jumps out the car and grabs her backpack.
Today is our first day of dating. I haven't been able to stop replaying the events of earlier. The rest of the day was just as hectic. Jocks and other popular people were talking to me. Even Senior jocks were talking to me as if we're friends. I was most shocked by how... open some girls were. Logan used to say being in a relationship opened other doors. Never got it until now.
"Wow!" Victoria jumps up and down in her spot. "Your house is amazing!"
"Oh." I lean down to take off my shoes by the door. "Doesn't your mom own a business?" Carter said so anyway. He's a gossip so sometimes he confuses rumors with truth.
The corner of her lips fall. "Yeah. But we don't have a house this big." She runs a hand through her hair. "This place must have more than three rooms."
"Just eight." I know how spoiled I sound. To be fair, I used to live in a three bedroom house but after my grandfather made my father partner, we moved to this house. I wasn't spoiled until my father wanted a relationship though.
"Can we go up to your room?" Her eyes sparkle.
I swallow roughly. "For... for what?" Keep it PG, Lucas. PG.
"I think a girlfriend should be familiar with her boyfriend's room." She winks.
Ba dump. Ba dump.
"Uhh... okay."
Distraction Attack!
"But you should take off your shoes. My mom is strict about things like that." I laugh nervously.
She turns her head with a smirk. "She's not here, is she?"
Oh. Oh! OH!
Swallowing roughly, I place my hand on the armrest of the stairs. "Follow me." My stomach churns with every step I take.
I'm not experienced in... you know. I've kissed but doing other things are out the question. I fear I may get a heart attack because of how fast my heart is beating.
I'm not ready! Am I ready? How would I know if I'm ready? During?! Before?!
"Why did you stop?"
My feet temporarily leave the ground in fear. I fast walk to my door and take a deep breath. My hand turns the knob. "This is my room." I throw my backpack on my desk and stand in the middle awkwardly. "This is it." My arms extend in a straight line.
