"I can't."

"You can do this." Julian grabs my hand in a supportive manner.

"We are here for you man." Carter smiles.

"I don't think I can." I feel my hand quiver. "I'm so scared."

Tip 9: There is no shame in making alliances.

Logan said this but has never made an alliance with the devil.

"It's a simple chore. We believe in you." Carter grasps my hand.

"I know. I know." I stand up from my chair and pace around the table. "What if... it goes wrong?"

"We'll help you push."

"It's not so simple!" I whisper yell.

Carter nods. "Yes, Julian." He rubs his chin. "It can't be that bad, she's good at it."

"How do you know that?" Julian raises an eyebrow, leaning his body close to the table and putting his elbows on top. He flutters his eyelashes mockingly.

"She was very good to me."

"How good?" I question, biting my lip. Carter grins. I lean over the desk and pull him close to by his shirt. "This is serious, man! I need to feel good tonight!" I push him back to his seat.

"I'm just saying, I was satisfied after I finished with her." Carter puts his hand over his heart, blushing.

"Maybe, we should do it together." Julian suggests. He pulls out a notebook and a pen. "We can rehearse what to say, state positions, and how far we are willing to go." He scribbles on the page.

"Are you sure?" I sit down in my seat and lean forward. "I don't want to bother you with it."

"If it will help you find true love, I'll do anything." Carter tilts his head, his lips lifted at the sides.

"Are you talking about a foursome?"

Julian screams, throwing his pen to the nearby bookcase. I duck under the table, where Carter's already sucking on his hand.

"I'm not carrying a weapon."

The devil.

The pair of black boots walk past our table with a rolling bookcase and stop a feet away.

Carter jumps up, patting himself down and leans against the table as an attempt to look cool. "I was just... looking for... roaches." Carter loses his eyes and gulps. "Yes. I was doing that." A bead of sweat rolls down his forehead.

Nikki pauses, a book in her hand, and nods. "Yes, roaches are very common here." She says sarcastically.

"Awesome!" Carter snaps his fingers once, smiling proudly at what he calls a "save".
