Chapter 3

"Wake up" Someone says shaking my arm. I open my eyes to see Soda leaning over the bed. "About time" He smiles.

"How long was I asleep?" I ask sitting up on the bed rubbing my eyes.

"Almost 3 hours" He laughs and sits on the edge of the bed. I look at my watch and its already 5 o'clock.

"How was work?" I ask still sitting on the bed.

"Boring like usual, at least I have Steve with me to keep company" He responds.

"Did you work?" He asks.

"Um no my mom wouldn't let me get a job, that's why I'm here with no money, but I'm really glad I ended up here, I never really had many friends since my father died, now I'm part of your family, and I couldn't be any happier" I smile widely and looked down at my fingers waiting for a response.

"We're all happy your here with us" He says and gives a nice long hug.

After our hug, Dally awkwardly comes into the room and tells us that Darry is making supper. I didn't even want to think about food right now, when I asked Dally for a burger, he ordered me the largest burger in the place.

"Two-bit stop" I scream laughing on the couch. He was tickling me for about five minutes and I really had to pee.

Darry made spaghetti for supper but I only had a little, Darry forced me into it because I was to skinny and I needed more food, like I haven't heard that before.

"Hey Johnny" I said and sat down on the couch next to him.

"Hey" He said a little louder than usual.

"I just wanted to say thank you for bringing me here, I would be so lost right now if it weren't for you" I giggled.

"My pleasure" He smiled. Cute.

We all sat around the living room and chatted for a while, they all spoke about things I really wasn't up to date on, but I listened anyway.

"Who's up for a party at Bucks tonight?" Dally asks.

Two-bit, Steve, Soda, and I agreed to go after Soda explained to me who Buck was. I loved parties, well when I ever had the chance to go to them, I definitely wasn't a hard drinker because if I came home drunk my mother would literally kill me. So this was just like a vacation for me.

"Now" Darry says after we finish talking about Bucks party. "You four will protect her and one of you stay with her at all times"

I smiled when all the boys nodded, I felt so safe here. I decided to change my clothes before I went to Bucks. I chose a white t-shirt, it was a little cropped, a pair of blue jeans and converse. I put my hair back into a braid and didn't bother with any makeup. I didn't know what girls looked and dressed like here, I haven't even seen one yet, but hopefully I'll see some tonight to get some ideas.

"You ready?" Soda says peeping his head in through his bedroom door.

"Yes!" I say, I was getting really excited about this, I haven't been to a party in a long long time.

Soda, Steve, Two-bit, Dally and I walked down streets for about 10 minutes, then we reached a house, bigger than the Curtis's, with loud music playing and lights flashing. We all walked to the door and walked in one by one. It was packed in here.

"Want anything to drink?" Dally asks.

"Bud light please" I seen many people with those in their hands, they must be popular here. Dally came back with my drink, I wiped the water off the top, opened the can and took a long taste. Dally and Soda watched me chug the rest, they must have found that impressive because they were smiling wide. I sat down next to Soda while Dally went to talk to some guys. Soda and I talked for about an hour, Two-bit was bouncing around and yelling, he must have been drunk, and like usual, I laughed until my sides hurt.

"Want a drink?" I ask Soda.

"No I'm good thanks" He answers.

I walk to the cooler and pull out another bud light. I take another long sip then start walking around. This drunk comes up behind me and places his hand on my shoulder.

"Hey baby" He slurs. I rip his hand off my shoulder and walk away but he keeps cutting in front of me. I look around for one of the boys but none are in sight.

"Please leave me alone" I say loudly over the music.

He places his hands on both my hips and I try to push him off but he was to big to move. I see Dally walk through the crowd and I yell his name as loud as I could. He looks to where I am and he runs toward us. He grabs the guy and punches him straight in the face. I backed up and covered my mouth with my hands and looked up at Dally.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Dally asks walking to me.

"I'm fine, thank you" I say relieved.

"Want me to walk you home?" He asks.

I nod and we go tell Soda that we were heading home. Dally and I walked down the street, it was surprisingly warm tonight.

"Thank you for doing that Dally, I was getting scared" I finally say.

"Just doing my job" He smiles.

I yawned just as we reached the house. Dally opened the door for us both and we walked inside. Darry, Pony and Johnny were sitting on the couches watching tv, thankfully not Mickey.

"Where's the others?" Darry asks standing up.

"Still at Bucks, I brought her home" Dally answers sitting in Darry's spot.

"Did anything happen to you?" Darry asks coming close up to my face.

I giggled and told him everything was fine. I didn't want anything to happen, he seems like the kind who overreacts a lot. Dally nodded at me, probably meaning I did the right thing. I changed into a new pair of my pyjamas and joined Pony and Johnny on the couch.

"Did you meet Buck?" Pony asks.

"No, I never talked to anyone besides Soda and Dally" I reply.

"I hate Buck" Pony snaps.

I giggle at his facial expressions when Dally walks in talking about Buck. I was happy that Dally and I were getting a little closer, maybe we could turn into something. I mentally punched myself after thinking that. It's never going to happen, I never even had a boyfriend before, I don't know how it all works.

I get snapped out of my thoughts when Soda, Steve and Two-bit walk into the door. I turn around and see a beautiful blonde girl with glowing blue eyes. She must have been Soda's girlfriend because her arm was linked in his. I felt a little awkward now for sleeping with Soda, maybe I should stay on the couch or something.

"Hey Hannah, I'd like you to meet my girlfriend Sandy!" Soda says with excitement dragging the blonde girl over.

She put her hand out so I could shake it, and I kindly did. She seemed like a sweet girl. Her and Soda were so in love. Around eleven o'clock Sandy went home and the rest of us hung out in the living room.

"Ah Soda, should I sleep somewhere else, I didn't notice you had a girlfriend" I ask.

"I don't mind at all, I'm sure she wouldn't mind either, It's no big deal" Soda responds smiling. I was a little happy he said I could still sleep there because I needed good sleep and I don't think the couch would give me that.

"Come on Hannah, let's head to bed" Soda says getting off the couch and pulling me up with him.

"Goodnight boys" I said waving and following Soda into his room. We climbed into bed and had a little chat about DX. After a while I realized that I was talking to myself because Soda was asleep. I rolled over facing him and fell right to sleep. Happy.
