Chapter 15

I got dressed in a pair of Pony's sweat pants and a sweatshirt Johnny gave me. I put my hair in a braid, threw on my converse and didn't bother with makeup.

"Ready kid?" Soda asks. It was only Soda and I in the house. Steve had to go early for some reason.

"Yeah let's go" We walked out the door, and down the road to the DX. It was nice out today, not to cold, not to warm.

"How do you feel?" Soda asks as we walk.

"Better, I feel normal again" I replied.

After a few more minutes of walking we reached the DX. There was already 2 cars parked outside, waiting to get in the garage I'd say.

"Hey Steve" I said walking in the front door.

"Hey where's Soda?" Steve asks.

"He went out back, there were a couple cars out there" I answered.

"Well I better go out, here's your shirt, have fun" He winked and ran out back.

I sighed and walked behind the counter. I didn't even bother putting my shirt on, over this big sweatshirt. I piled up a big stack of magazines to read again today.

"Hi, how can I help you?" I asked a girl after she walked in.

"There's something wrong with my car, I'm not quite sure what though" She said sweetly.

This girl was stunning, she had short brown/blonde hair, with glasses and a perfect smile.

"Yeah just a second" I smiled and ran back to the garage.

"Soda, come here" I yelled over all the noise Steve was making.

"There's a girl here, she doesn't know what's wrong with her car" I said after he ran up.

"Let's go see" He said walking in the store.

Soda stopped right in his tracks when he seen the girl standing by the counter.

"Hi, there's something wrong with my car but im not quite sure what" The girl said smiling.

"Uh yeah, drive it into the ah garage" Soda stuttered.

The girl smiled and went outside. Soda looked stunned.

"Soda, do you like that girl?" I asked smiling.

Soda nodded his head, not taking his eyes off the spot where she was recently standing. I giggled and went behind the counter again.

"Hey Soda, she might need you out back" I said looking up from my magazine.

Soda went out back again. I never expected Soda to like another girl this fast after what Sandy did. Everyone knows he's still upset about it, he didn't even mention when she came into the store the other day.

A few minutes later the girl came into the store again.

"Hey" She smiled.

"Hey" I smiled back. She quickly paid.

"Do you know Soda?" She asked.

"He's basically my brother" I laughed.

"He's a sweet boy ain't he" She said.

"Yeah he is, you like him or something?" I asked.

"I have for the longest time" She gazed off.

"Well I think he likes you too"

She looks at me with shock.

"Really?" She asked wide-eyed.

"Why would I lie to you" I smiled.
