Days and days have went by and still no Dally. He obviously has to be in jail. These couple weeks have been really hard on me, but thankfully Dally will be out next week, on Monday, November 17th. I didn't realize how hard life can be when your not with the one you love all the time. It really sucks. There was a pain in my chest every time someone would say Dally's name, or I saw something that reminded me of him.
"Han, I think you should get out of bed, it's been three days" Soda said when he woke up. I never slept much at all last night. "Hey, come to work with us today, we miss having you around"
I thought about it for a while and I figured life was going to feel the same if I sat behind a wooden counter or lid in bed.
"Sure I guess" I sighed and peeled the blankets off me. For November, it was still pretty hot around the house.
Todays outfit was a pair of skinny jeans that Kaitlyn got me when she went to Arizona, I don't know where she got the money but she came back with a lot of stuff for me. And a tank top, covered by a zip up sweater. I threw on my converse and went to get breakfast.
"Good morning Han, good to see you out and about" Darry said from the kitchen. I smiled at him and got surprised when I felt someone hugging me. I looked down at the hair and knew it was Pony. It's like the kid haven't seen me in years or something.
"Hey Pony" I giggled when he let go.
"Han's coming back to work" Soda said with a smile.
"I sure did miss having her around" Steve said and fluffed my hair. I giggled and grabbed a plate with an egg on it. It was great being closer with Steve, he's a really nice guy.
"We should get going" Soda said putting on his shirt.
We ran out the door and walked all the way to the DX. It was nice to smell the fresh air but it was starting to get chilly. That I wasn't excited for.
The day went on and only seven people showed up, but almost 2 every hour. Soda and Steve just came out of the garage to talk with me at the desk. I was super bored and I suppose they were too.
"I guess all these people have you overwhelmed" Steve said with a smile as he walked in. Soda laughed and I gave Steve a small smile in return.
"But seriously, how's it going?" Soda asked jumping up on the counter.
"Been better" I said placing my magazine back on the shelf.
"It's good to get out when your upset Han, that's what Darry always told me and it does work" Soda said looking down in my eyes.
"I know" I said quietly. "Hey Soda, can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure"
"Why does Dally get into so much trouble? Like did he do something really big in his past to make him so bad?" I had to know the answer. I knew Dally have had to do something really bad to make him do all the little illegal things.
"Well, he started doing all this crazy stuff when his parents went out on him, he was alone and I guess doing bad stuff made him get over that"
"So what else? There has to he something else, right?"
"Right. When Dally was about 15 or 16, he was livin' in New York. He was involved with murder" Soda said slowly.
Murder? My boyfriend killed someone? I could feel my body starting to heat up and tingle. Murder? I just don't understand why he'd do something like that.
"Is that all?" I asked after the long pause.
"Yeah he moved here when he was 16, almost 17. Then I guess it just stuck with him, since he've been here, he haven't been close to killin' someone but, he's like almost every other greaser I guess."
