Getting to Know Me

My name is Paisley Wright. Let me tell you a little bit about my life. To start, I'm 20 years old. When I was 16 I was in the Olympics for gymnastics and won 3 gold medals. You wouldn't think I was a gymnast. I'm 5'10" but only 112 lbs. I also played volleyball, basketball, softball, and cheered all four years of high school. Now, I have been attending the University of Illinois to achieve my dreams of becoming a veterinarian. I currently have two dogs. A three year old Doberman Pinscher named Duke. (He's your cliché badass guard dog) My second dog is a giant Harlequin Great Dane named Jasper. He's two. He may be big, but she's the sweetest dog you will ever meet. Both of them are extremely loving, loyal, and obedient. Next, I have a younger brother named Adam. He's 13. You'd think that we would but heads, but we actually get along surprisingly well. Probably because of our family situation.

Let's just say my family is a little different. For starters, my dad, Bradley Wright, was a former defensive linebacker for the New England Patriots, and a very famous one at that. He shocked the football nation when he said he was retiring from football at the age of 28. Why you ask? Because he wanted to serve his country and join the United States Military. He quickly became of the most respected and trusted men on the battle field. He constantly is getting called to come do another job for the military and he doesn't want to disappoint. So he never leaves work. I haven't seen my father since the day he was deployed. 14 years ago.

My mother. Jillian Wright. The one who I admire so very much. She was my trainer in my gymnastics career. She is the one who pushed me to try and work harder. She got me to where I am today. She herself, was a gymnast headed to the Olympics. But a broken leg ended that all. That is why I dedicated my whole time in the Olympics to her. It was my dream, but it was also hers. It was ours. 7 years ago, my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It was one of the hardest things I had to hear in my entire life. I had already somewhat lost one parent. I couldn't lose a second. She has been battling for 7 years now, all seems to be going well.

Before my dad left for the military and my mom moved us to Illinois, my parents lived near Buffalo, New York. They met some of their best friends. Gordon and Diane Gronkowski. And still to this day, we have our annual trips to visit the Gronkowski family. Those trips were some of my favorites. The boys excepted me as one of their own. I would play and roughhouse just as much as they would.
