Sure enough, when I walked downstairs, everyone else was already at the table. All the food had been laid out across the table for us to pass around. And let me tell you, there was A LOT of food. Once I sat down in the one open seat, which happened to be next to Rob, we all began to dig in.
Once we had stuffed our faces and couldn't eat anything else, everyone got up and went back to doing their own thing. Even my brother, who I'm guessing went to go play video games with Glenn. But Rob and I were still sitting at the table.
"It's my night to clean up and do dishes. " he said with frown.
I looked around and kind of felt really bad. It was going to take forever for one person to finish clearing off the table, putting leftovers away, and wash all the dishes.
"I'll be happy to help you Rob," I said.
"That would be great!" Rob said perking up a little bit.
I knew with two people it was going to go much faster. Especially because Rob and I work really well together.
We created a little system for our job. He would bring a dish over to the counter, put whatever was left in a Tupperware container, and hand the bowl to me to wash. Once he was done with all the leftovers, he started bringing all the plates and silverware to the sink. When he cleared off the whole table, he began drying the plates and silverware while I was still washing. The whole process of cleaning of the table took us about 45 minutes. But I knew that if I didn't help and Rob had to do it alone, it would have taken much longer.
"Thank you for helping me with dishes." Rob said. "That would have taken me forever. And I HATE doing dishes."
"You're welcome." I said while laughing.
"So, what do you want to do now that we are done...?" Rob asked.
"Um...I'm not really sure...I kinda wanted to show off my kickass basketball skills against you, but doesn't look like that's happening." I said as both Rob and I looked at the snow falling for outside the window.
"True. I guess we could watch a movie. If you want to." Rob suggested.
"Yeah sure. That's cool with me. You pick out the movie while I go change into something more comfortable." I said while turning my back to head upstairs to my room.
"We are watching it in the theater room by the way!" Rob shouted as I was going up the stairs.
"Got it!" I shouted back closing the door to my room so I could change.
I took off the pair of black combat boots I was wearing and the pair of black skinny jeans and slipped on some black leggings and a pair of fuzzy socks. Then I took of the blouse and jacket that I was wearing and slipped on one of my favorite hoodies. I then made my way downstairs to the theater room where Rob was waiting for me.
