CHAPTER 8

Seryoso ako sa sinabi kong gagamitin ko si Theo not just to have Marcus but to make it clear sa sarili ko na si Marcus talaga ang gusto ko. I had to put extra efforts para magmukhang kami ni Theo since kalat na kalat na si Marcus talaga ang gusto ko at si Theo naman ay walang kapantay sa pagiging babaero.

It was hard at first, as in sobrang hirap! At very awkward lalo nakapag always in character si Theo. Goodness! Always PDA kahit sino pa ang nakaharap, but I can't do anything against it. I asked for it eh. Especially when Felix is around, I had to be as clingy as Theo is. Ugh! I hate it when I think this way.

Pero sabi nga nila, patience is a virtue and I know that hindi naman makukuha ng isang araw na pagpapanggap lahat eh. It might take weeks or months pero okay lang, para sa future ko 'to kay Marcus.

"Ano na? May nangyayari na ba?" tanong ni Scarlet habang namimili kami ng damit. "Baka naman mamaya sayang efforts mo."

"Ang nega mo!" Audrey exclaimed.

"I'm working on it," sabi ko sa dalawa.

"Oo nga naman! Tignan mo nga mamaya, we're gonna go at their house! My god! So exciting!" ani Audrey.

I know I've been putting a lot of effors for over a month now and I think things are already starting to go smoothly. Theo's gonna throw a party at their house in celebration for winning the sportsfest basketball tournament. The party won't happen naman kung hindi dahil sa 'kin kasi he originally wanted to rent a bar for the whole night but too bad, I grabbed this chance para umpisahan na iinvade si Marcus.

"So, what are your plans later?" Scarlet asked.

Napatigil ako at pinagmasdan ang hawak kong damit. "I don't know yet. Wala pa, but I'll make sure na makakascore ako," ngising sagot ko.

"Eew! Narinig mo ba sarili mo? You sounded like a maniac jerk," she complained.

I just rolled my eyes at her before heading to the fitting room.

I tried some clothes on as we kept on talking about tonight's party. Hindi nila ako tinatanan kahit hanggang sa nakauwi na kaming tatlo. I was honestly surprised when I saw Theo's car parked outside my place. I checked my phone, wala man lang pasabi. I wonder if paano kaya kapag si Theo na ang nasa serious relationship. Walang kwenta.

"What are you doing here?" tanong ko habang binubuksan ang likod ng kotse upang kunin ang shopping bags.

"I was waiting for you," aniya sabay alok ng tulong sa akin.

Napasingi ako. "Wow, in character?" asar kong tawa.

"I know I'm an ass but I'm still a gentleman inside," bawi nito.

I rolled my eyes at him. "So, bakit ka nga andito?"

"To tell you my plans for tonight. Ayoko naman na magmukha kang tanga doon mamaya," aniya habang binubuksan ko ang pintuan. I gestured him inside.

"I have my own plans, hun," I answered back.

"I have better plans, hun," he said, mimicing the way I called him.

"Okay, my ears are open," sabi ko nang nakapamewang.

"We'll get drunk, we'll dance all night and you will be sweet as hell with me. I need you drunk para maiuwi kita," ani nito na may ngisi sa labi.

"Akala mo madadala mo ako sa ganyan? I won't get drunk especially with you! I don't wanna get raped!"

"Wow! Ikaw pa maarte? Come on! Everyone wants to be in bed with me," pagyayabang nito.

"Except me. Duh. I don't want you, I want your brother," ngisi kong sagot.

"Which one?" tanong niya na panandaliang nakapagtahimik sa akin. Which one? Sino nga ba?

"Wha – ha?! Ano bang pinagsasabi mo diyan?! Of couse si Marcus!"

Ngumisi ito sa akin bago tumawa ng tila ba nangaasar. "Just checking. Ang tagal mo sumagot ha," aniya. I chose to ignore him kapag kasi pinansin ko siya, mas lalo lang niya akong aasarin.

He stayed for a while to pester me. Ako naman 'tong hindi pa sanay sa lahat ng pambwibiwisit niya. He decided to leave nang magsawa na siya na asarin ako.

"All right, I'll pick you up at 10," aniya.

"Oo na, oo na! Just leave!" naiinip kong pagtataboy sa kanya.

"Calm your tits! Aalis na nga, oh? I still need to stalk my brother," sabi nito na nakaagaw ng pansin ko.

"Sino?"

"Marcus, of course. Are you expecting me to stalk Felix?" nakangisi niyang sagot.

"Alam mo, kanina ka pa! Of course I'll ask kung sino, malay ko ba naman kasi diba? You have two brothers," sagot ko.

"Of course I'll stalk Marcus. Siya 'yung goal natin, hindi ba? That is why I need to know who is his date tonight. Besides, you wouldn't really have to ask if you were really interested to the right person, hun," he answered back.

"Whatever! Just leave," irap kong sagot. Hindi na ito sumagot, sa halip ay tumawa na lang ito habang naglalakad patungo sa kotse niya. Nakakainis! Nakakairita talaga ang Theo na iyon!

I spent the next hours contemplating on what will I do tonight. I know the plan but I have to pull it off. I need the plans to work. I need to get Marcus tonight. Or kahit maumpisahan ko lang na angkinin siya. The madness I've been into these past few weeks is enough.

An hour before ten, I started preparing. I made sure that I'll stand out later. Dapat mapansin niya ako. It was 5 after 10 when Theo came. Sakto lang dahil katatapos ko lang mag-ayos.

"So, who's his date?" tanong ko habang nagmamaneho ito.

"Marcus is surprisingly alone tonight and Felix will be with Kimberly," aniya. Not sure why he had to tell me about Felix's date tonight. Ano naman ang pakialam ko kung dalawa sila ni Kimberly na 'yun? It's none of my business.

"Good," ngisi kong sagot.

"Really? I thought you'd be disappointed," aniya

"Why would I? Mas maganda na wala siyang kasama. It will be easier for me to get him," ngiting panalo kong sabi.

"Wala lang," sabi nito habang nakangisi ulit. Ang sarap punitin ng ngisi niya na iyon. This Theo is really annoying.

When we arrived, the place was almost full. Dumiretso kami sa itaas kung saan nakareserba ang pwesto namin. Of course Marcus will be sitting with us. It was around after ten minutes when I saw Marcus heading towards us. True enough that he has no date for the night. Lihim akong napangisi.

Let the game begin.

Theo offered to get me a drink. I sensed that he was already trying to leave me alone with Marcus.

"I'm surprised you don't have someone tonight with you," pag-uumpisa ko.

"Not as much as I'm surprised that you're with my brother," tila nang-aasar ngunit mapaglaro niyang sagot.

"Would you rather have me with you?" I started flirting.

He laughed a little before sipping his drink. "Are you sure you are with the right guy?" he asked like as if he's fishing for something.

"Yeah, I think so too," I answered as I started getting closer to him.

"Uh huh," he agreed as he pointed out to somewhere and I regret following it. It was Felix with Kimberly clinging on his arm. "You are really with the wrong guy," dagdag na sabi ni Marcus na nakapagpabingi sa akin.
