Calliope Jane Edwards

A white desk, bunches of blank pages, pencils, colour sketches, fabrics.

I present you my present life.

The last three years has been interesting and that has kept me on my feet ever since. Since I had second thoughts for the wedding, the events did not take a heavy toll on me, which is good otherwise I would have to be in a therapist's office.

It's a warm cozy evening, the iMac on my left had all the ideas that Sophia and I had come up with one day. I looked down on to my blank sheet of paper. Designing for Sophia started off as a hobby since I had never did a course in designing but since last year, I've been helping both Liam and Sophia in both their fields.

When a thought of a red winter coat entered my head, I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." I respond.

When I heard the door open, I looked up to see who it was. Cole, Liam's faithful employee stood there with a big file in his had.

"Hey Cole." I greet him as I set my pencil aside.

"Hey Callie, Liam wanted you to go through these reports regarding the marketing strategy for the next season along with the sponsors list." He walked in further into my office.

"Sure, why don't you place that there on the table." I point out the table. "I'll go through it and I'll meet Liam later." I tell him, he nods and places the file on the table and then turned to me again.

"I came here for another thing." I nod, gesturing to continue. "I still haven't figured out why you keep declining my offer for a date. You're single, a dinner would not harm." He looked at me, waiting for a valid reason to my no's.

"Cole how many times have I told you not to ask her out on date!" I saw Sophia walk in with Taylor. Taylor ran over to me and I lifted her and made her sit on my lap.

"I just wanted to know the reason, Mrs.Payne, that's all." He replies to Sophia.

Sophia, my dearest cousin has been very protective about me when it came to me going out. She hasn't quite forgiven Jacob for what he did. Usually she replies to every date offer I got but today, I felt that I should speak.

"Cole I'm not ready to go dates, I'm not looking for a relationship right now." I tell him.

"Alright, I got my answer." He nods and walks out of my office. I hate disappointing people.

"You haven't disappointed him at all." Sophia closed the door and walked over to me. "But he's right, I'm single and dinner would now harm." I tell her.

"Sure it wouldn't and then it will turn to a second dinner and then the third and then one day you will wonder what you're doing." she sat on a chair that was in front of my table. "Are you not enjoying your "being single" life?" she asks me.

"I am but-" "But you like someone who is miles away and it felt wrong that you could not even say a best of luck to him. I get it." she interrupts me.

"Sophia don't bring him into this. He's probably found someone who will love him better over there, he might have moved on."

"You're right, he may have moved on but what about that heart of yours? Three years Callie, Three years and you haven't spoken to him once and not a day of yours goes by without thinking about him. Admit it Callie, you were in love with him even before you met Jacob you just never wanted to admit it." she looked at me.

I sat silent and played with Taylor's pigtails. Sophia and Liam have been the greatest support I have had in these past three years. She wasn't wrong about my feelings, I just don't think it's right. Even if it was then I don't know how to get things back to normal.
