Calliope Jane Edwards

There was silence between us. I drank my coffee, so did he.

After a while, Samuel cleared his throat. I look at him and he wanted to know why we were meeting now.

"I don't understand anything from the silence here." He tells me.

"I know. I'm just trying a good way to say it." I shake my head and say.

"I don't know how to say it." I look at him. "Maybe this conversation would not be happening if you hadn't given my hand to Louis last night." I say.

"Is this going the good way?"

"The time has come." I look at him. For a second he wasn't sure of what I was talking about and then he caught on.

"You guys patched up?" He asks with a smile.

"Yeah but we aren't really letting it out to everyone." I say. "Samuel I feel terrible and I don't know why because there wasn't anything between us except for a fake relationship we made up." He shook his head.

"You don't have to. I'll be the bad guy because that's how it's been in this industry." He tells me.

"But-"

"No Callie. We can say that we had to end things because we love our place of work and that we weren't working out." He interrupts me. "I find that would be a good reason." He tells me. I found it sensible because distance would always be an issue if we were even real.

"We can't end things right now." I say, he nods his head. "Are you coming again in February?" He asks me. "I don't know, Sam. I'll be busy with Dani and the wedding."

We sat there for sometime. Our "break up" would be done some day later. It was going to be crazy when we break the news out but I didn't really care about it.

Just as we were about to leave, Louis messaged me saying that they were leaving for the airport. It was only then that I saw the time.

"Sam?" He looks at me, "Could drop me at the airport?" He nods his head and opens the door of the cafe. There were camera flashes, I kept my head low. Sam had his protective arms around my waist as we made way to his car. I secured myself with the seatbelt and waited for Sam to drive.

"Tell me that you're alright." he sighs and looks at me.

"I'm fine, Callie." he gives me a small smile. "You don't have to worry about me. I'm happy that you two actually are together." He genuinely says.

"But what about you?" I ask.

"I'm Samuel, Callie." I chuckle. He drives down the roads and heads over to the airport that wasn't very far away.

Sam parked the along with the other cars on the side. He got out and came over to my side and opened the door so that I could get out. Once I was out, I thanked him.

We walk into the airport and walked towards where Louis said that they would be waiting for me. I spot Louis and Harry, I find Sophia had noticed my arrival and walked to me.

"Sorry, Sophia." Samuel begins to speak, I look at him wondering what he was to speak. "Had to see her before she crossed the sea." He tells her. The frown Sophia had on slowly disappeared and she had a small smile on.

"It's alright." She tells him. "We aren't that late anyway." she looks at me.

"I'll leave two for a moment." she says and turns to walk back to Liam. I look at Louis, he gives me a small smile, I smile back and then turn to Samuel.

"You have nothing to worry about." he holds my hand. "Go back and think of your life with the one you love." I chuckle and stand on my toes to hug him.

"Thank you, for everything." I say against his shoulder.

"No. Thank you, for everything." he hugs me back and then pulls away. "Your prince awaits." he says with a smile, I giggle. "I'll keep in touch, Sam." I tell him, he nods his head.

I turn to walk to where everyone was waiting for me. I turn in between to look at him and wave him goodbye, so did he.

The airport official guided us through one of the exits to the where our plane was. I walk along with Louis and climbed the stairs of the plane. I sat down on one of the seats, Louis sat next to me.

The pilot in sometime announced that he will be taking off. Since everybody was tired, they all fell asleep once we were in the air. I look at Louis who was sleeping and realised that this was what I've been waiting for and that I would fight for him if he is ever taken away from me.

----

It's been a week since we came back from New York.

Nothing different in my life except now, Louis and I as much as we could.

Today was an important day.

Louis was getting back to work and after a lot of begging, he agreed on me dropping him off to the University. I set his mug of tea next to a plate of fresh French toast and some fruits. I would not want him to go on his first day without a proper breakfast.

"That's a large spread." I turn around and I see Louis standing by the door, I smile as he walks close to me.

"How do I look?" he asks me. I smile and settle his tie. "You look perfect." I look at him, he leaned in and kissed me on my lips, I kiss him back and then stopped.

"You need to eat, you can't be late on your first day." he chuckles and takes his seat at the table, I sat on the other chair and waited for him start.

"I will be picking you up as well." I tell him.

"I thought that was the plan since you're dropping me today." he looks at me, I sigh. "Don't worry I'll be waiting for you." he tells me and goes back to eating.

I place the plates in the sink and then walk out of Louis' house. Louis locked the door and then two of us made our way to my car. He sat in the car, so did I and soon drove out of the driveway.

There was traffic on the road, I hoped and prayed at every stop of my car that he shouldn't get late for his first day. With God's Grace, we reached in good time.

"There we are." I annouce as I finally stopped in the parking lot of the university.

"Here we are." I look at him.

He doesn't do anything, except sit on the seat and looked at the building in front of him.

"You planning to go in?" I ask, he nods his head and looks at me.

"I am. I don't know if I'm excited for it." I let out a small sigh and placed my hand over his. "You'll be fine, like always." I tell him.

I lean towards him and kiss him.

After we kissed, Louis unbuckled the seat belt and got out of the car. He came over to my side and I let the window down to see him.

"Thanks."

"No problem. I'm just a call away." he nods his head and then turns to walk to the building near him. Once I saw him walk into the building, I drove out of the lot and headed over to my work place.
