Danielle Elizabeth Edwards
"Say something, Dani." I hear mum.
I didn't know what to say. I was too shocked to see what I held in my hand.
"Why do you want to go away?" I softly ask.
"My daughters are growing up, they need their space." She replies, I look at her. "I want you here, we need you here." I tell her.
"Callie, say something!" I lean forward to look at her.
"I don't know Dani." She shakes her head.
"Sweetheart, I'm just going to Ireland. You can always visit me or you call and I will be here before you know it." Mum tells me with a smile. I sense Harry take the papers that were now on my lap.
"Mum, I need you here. It's going to be new and different and" my eyes were tearing up. "I don't think I can stay here without you." I cry.
"Of course you can." Mum cups my face in her palm. "You and Callie are my daughters and my daughters are very strong and independent." She tells me.
"You're getting married now, it's different and you need this." I look away.
"With all due respect Ms. Edwards." I hear Harry, "We can't take this house." Mum looks at him.
"Why is that, Harry. You and Dani need a house now." She tells him. "I was looking at some houses." Mum nods her head, "I know, the prices are over the roof aren't they?" Harry looks down.
Harry and I had a conversation about this a week back. Remembering what mum told me when I asked her, I told him to wait. The houses we looked at were good but the prices of them weren't something we could afford. Harry would have to take a loan for that.
"Trust me Harry, it's better you have this place. You'll be closer to you parents." I look at Harry, "If you still want to look for a place then it's your wish but my decision remains the same."
"Calliope gets the house in Brighton and Danielle gets this house and I will be in Ireland." Mum sounded pretty serious on it.
I was surprised that Callie didn't say anything to this. I'll ask about it later in the evening.
"Come on now," mum wipes my tears that had fallen on my cheeks. "Let's have some cookies and cakes along with some of your favourite teas." Mum says with a smile.
---
Louis and Harry were spending the night here since I decided to have a movie marathon.
I kiss Harry goodnight and switched off the lights of the guest room. I step out of the room and I see Louis. I completely forgot that he was going to be in the same room. "Has already he slept already?" He asks me, I nod.
"Goodnight Dani."
"Night Louis." I smile. He opens the door of the guest room and walks in.
I head to my room but before I opened the door, I thought of seeing Callie. I walk a little more and stop in front of her door.
I knock on it and wait for her to respond.
"Come in!" I open the door and see her sitting on the bed with her laptop on her lap. I wait for to look up and when she did, she greets me with a smile.
"Hey, not sleeping yet?" She asks as I step in and close the door.
"Not really. Harry and Louis are in bed already." She nods and closes her laptop. She looks at me and I just stand there beside the dressing table.
