5. Never The Same

"Are you sure?" I heard him ask.

"Do I need to come over there?" I heard him ask again. I stared at the paused game of Fifa on my screen, I really wanted to get back to the game.

"Alright then. Love you." He ended the conversation and plopped on the couch beside me.

"Is your girl missing you too much?" I ask, he did not respond to me. I turn to him and he's staring at me.

"If you're done staring at me, would you mind answering my question?" I ask again. He took in a deep breathe and then decided to answer.

"I did not want to bring this up because it will ruin your mood completely." I frown.

"I never kind of understood your behaviour towards Callie yesterday." he says. "Why, don't you sound like a typical teacher." I laugh and look back at the screen and press play to continue the game. Before I could even have a member of my team move, Harry paused the game again.

"You did not answer me." he told me as I looked at him.

"You never asked me a question." he sighs.

"Why were you so cold towards Callie yesterday?" he asks me, again.

"Because, I felt like so." I shrug, knowing fully well that he will not be convinced with my answer. He said nothing, he continued to stare at me. He wanted to know more.

"If you're waiting to hear more, then I have nothing more to say." I shrug and look away.

"Like I'm going to believe that." he mocks which made me look back at him.

"What do you expect then? Pretend that nothing happened?" I snap at him. I got up from the couch and walked to the window nearest to me. "I can't be my old self in front of her ever again." I mumble.

"Being cold was no solution either. She's hurt by your actions." I heard him say. " I did not want to, Harry." I respond. "But each time I see her and think of her, I feel guilty for not have told her what I felt." I turn around.

"I've changed Harry and I'm not very sure of what happened to me in there. It would be strange to me if I let go of the feelings I still hold on to and pretend." I looked at him.

"I cannot have the past replay again."

"I understand." He got up and walked to where I was standing. "How do plan on doing that?" He asks me.

"Plan? I fear that word now." I chuckle. "That word ruined everything for me." I heard Harry chuckle too.

"So you're not going to do anything to win her heart or-"

"I don't know Harry." I interrupt him.

"So it's back to the same stage where you stay silent and you watch everything." I laugh.

"If I require to do something, then I will." I look at him. "But Harry, I know one thing for sure."

"What?"

"Callie and I won't be the same, ever again."

"Taylor, you need to eat the carrots." I heard Sophia very sternly tell her daughter. Taylor shook her head like any stubborn kid and looked up at Sophia with a frown.

"Oh, don't give me that face. That works on your daddy, not me." She told Taylor, she pouted and looked away. "Taylor, I don't want to stuff it down your throat now." Sophia warned her, Taylor continued to pout.

"Taylor, I'll take you out for ice cream if you have the carrots." I tell my niece as I took my last sip of my tea. "Really Aunt Callie?" She looked at me with happiness. "Really." I smile, she giggled and took a baby carrot in her hand and started eating it. Sophia gave me a glare, I looked at her with a small smile.

"You're spoiling her." she tells me.

"I'm not, kids at this age need something to look up to. She would not be having her carrots now if I did not say anything about ice creams." I explain.

"You're still spoiling her." 

"That's exactly my job. I'm her aunt." I proudly state and wash my mug.

"I see, then even I have a job being your good cousin." I heard her say. "What job do you have? You're doing whatever it is well, by giving me a great life in the fashion world." I tell her.

"My job is not complete." I look at her.

"My job is to see you happy and one of those reasons of happiness  is now your worry." I tried to not think of him the entire day and Sophia brought it up now.

"Sophia, can we not talk of that now?" I sigh.

"If you say so...but I have to say that he was being a jerk, acting like one too." she told me.

"He wasn't acting like a jerk, Soph." I respond.

"Now you're defending him. He did not behave right towards you at all." she shook her head and looked down at Taylor, who was innocently having her last  cucumber slice now.

"Maybe it wasn't right but how else was he going to talk to me? We never cleared the water in between us." I say and took the plate that was in front of Taylor and placed it in the sink. I pick her up and placed her on my right hip and supporting her with my arms.

"You're waiting for a storm to come to clear the waters?"

"No, I'm waiting for the right time to clear it." I reply. "You ready to get your ice cream?" I ask Taylor, she nodded with a big smile, I tickle her slightly on her stomach which made her laugh.

"I'll see you later." I inform Sophia and turn to walk out of the kitchen.

"Three years Calliope, Three Long Years and you're waiting for the right time." I stop abruptly and turn around to look at Sophia.

"Three years changed a lot in each other. Things between Louis and me will never be the same. The events will always replay in our minds. My mind is still not around the fact that he's back here. I'm going to see him more often. I cannot jump up to him and apologize and clear everything."

"You have nothing to apologize for." she shook her head and told me.

"I do Sophia, you and I know that." I reply and opened the main door and left the house to treat my niece.

Short Chapter, Not edited and nothing major going on here. I wanted to update because I did not update this week because I'm back to attending lectures and writing essays.

So, I miss the interaction Louis and Harry have and I liked their conversation.

Also, Do you think things between Louis and Callie will be the same?
