Calliope Jane Edwards

Everybody except for Liam and I were in the kitchen preparing the treats we were taking over to the Styles' residence for tonight.

It's the day before the New Year begins and we decided that we would gather at Harry's place. It's a new tradition mum and Anne have decided from this year onwards.

Liam and I sat at the dining table with our laptops and our files. I usually never like to do anything the day before Christmas or New Year but sometimes, I have to. I became a part of Sophia and Liam's company to help them both in their fields however this year it's been more fashion and less into anything else.

"So how many new people would you like to hire this year?" I ask Liam.

"Don't really know, Callie." he shrugs, "We have all the people we need. The problem would only arise if one of the existing ones decides to leave." he tells me.

"I know but what are we going to do with this amount of money?" I show the figures. "It's excess. We could either give it to charity." I look at him.

He takes his cup of coffee and takes a sip. "We have money aside for that, don't we?" he looks at me. "Let's keep it aside for a moment. We'll think on it." he tells me, I nod slightly.

We started talking on the New York show we were to have in January. Liam and I made sure that there were plenty of funds for it.

After some time, I lean back on the chair and let out a sigh. "We still haven't found what to do with that money." I pout and look at him. "Don't worry, Callie. It's not running away. I'm sure we'll come up with something." he pats my shoulder.

While we were working, a few thoughts were running my mind. In the silence we were in, I start to think on it more.

"Say Liam, we could do some internships this year for fashion students." I suggest. He looks at me for a minute, he was thinking on it. "Sounds good to me. Let's work on that idea later this week." He smiles.

I close my laptop and take my phone. I found a message from Samuel. I unlock the phone and let out a laugh when I saw it.

There he was, standing next to statue of Mr. McDonalds.

From: Sam
Missing you girlfriend.

To: Sam
Really? Seems like you found someone else.

I chuckle and keep my phone aside.

"You guys serious?" I hear Liam ask, I felt a little drop in my stomach. I didn't want to reply to that, This was all a lie.

"Callie?" I sigh and look at him.

"He keeps me happy for now." I lie partly. "Besides, we're more friends than being a couple." I begin to gather my things. "I guess that's all I need. For now." I get up and pick my things.

"I'll see you later." I say and leave the room. I slowly climb the stairs with all the things in my hands, my mind was not really in a good place. It never really has been for a while. It's as though my mind decides to forget them for a bit and then it comes back when I least expect it.

As I open the door to my room, my phone buzzes again. I set the files and my laptop on the table and took my phone in my hand.

From: Sam
What can I do darling, he's waiting for his girl, so am I. It's good company while we wait.

I laugh

To: Sam
Sorry to have you wait. It's not been so long since we last met.
