(A little work by me! Niall and Callie! )

Calliope Jane Edwards

I was at my table replying to some of the emails I had received over the weekend. I've been sitting with it for hours and some of them I could not even work on because they were all in my office back in London.

I hug myself in the giant sweater I was wearing and looked around my room to do something that wasn't related to work.

I got up from my chair and walk out of my room and head to Dani's room.

Maybe she might come up with something interesting to do.

I knock on her door and slowly open the door. I find her standing by the window, talking to someone on the phone. I did not step in but wait till she see me standing here. She turns around and saw me standing at her.

"Why don't I call you later?" she says to the person she was on line with. "Sure, I'll let you know. Bye." She disconnects the call and looks at me with a smile.

"I could come later if you were talking to Harry." Her smile fades a little. "I wasn't talking to Harry, it was a colleague." She tells me.

"Is everything alright between you and Harry, if don't mind me asking." She nods her head.

"Everything's great and I don't mind you asking about it, I've never really hid anything from you." She says, I nod slightly knowing that she wasn't really telling the truth.

"So, did you want something?" I hear her ask.

"Uh yeah, I was bored and I was wondering if you had anything interesting in mind.." I say.

She hums and looks around her room for a moment, thinking about what I asked her I guess.

"Got none actually. We could have gone out you know but I have some work I need to attend to." she tells me with a sad face. "It's alright, I'll find something. I'll see you later." she smiles and sits on her bed with her laptop on her lap.

I let out a small sigh as I closed the door.

What am I going to do?

As I walk back towards my room, my phone rings. I look at the caller id and thank the Lord for having this person call me.

"Hey!" I answer the phone with excitement.

"You sound way too excited." I hear him chuckle.

"I'm really not, I was bored and you called right when I was about to get frustrated with it." He laughs.

"It's not funny!"

"I've got something that might help." He tells me.

"I'm all ears."

"Just go to sleep. That's the best way to get rid of it."

"Well I'm not you, Malik who loves to sleep at anytime of the day." I hear him laugh again. "Anyway though, why did you ring me?" I ask him as I took the stairs to head downstairs.

"I'm in London and I thought of visiting you." He begins to say.

"Don't tell me you stopped by my office." I sigh.

"I did and I found out you weren't in town and that you're in your hometown." He tells me.

"See, this is why it's good at times to call and see if I'm there." He chuckles."Mum wanted to spend a weekend here, also we had to meet our priest for Dani and Harry's wedding." I say and I hear him hum.

"Oh! Did you know?"

"What?" He asks.

"My sister and my best friend has asked Louis and me to plan their wedding." I tell him. "It's a good thing right? It's actually nice of Harry and Dani to do that, don't you think?" I asks me.

"I guess." I sigh. "Anyway, she dropped an old secret the other day." I change the topic. Why did I bring the other topic up in the first place?

"What old secret?" he asks, I chuckle. "The secret that was kept between your sister, my sister and us." he hums, trying to figure what I was talking about.

"I don't really remember it." he says, "No problem, it was a good laugh after she told mum about it." I laugh a little and say. "Remember the sleepover where we worked on something in your room and I fell asleep next to you?" I hear him chuckle.

"You mean the one where we ended up making out?" I blush a little recollecting that night. "Oh gosh! We were just twelve!" I gasp.

"Yeah we were, perhaps some of the good days." he says, I agree with him and slowly walk to the kitchen, "That must have been news to your mum." I hear him say, "Those were her exact words." I chuckle and stop in front of the kitchen door and see mum sitting on one of the chairs there.

Before I thought of walking in, I see her talking to somebody. I slowly lean and see that it was Uncle Bobby and Aunt Maura she was talking to but it wasn't a casual chat from the looks of it. It was serious.

"Zayn?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I call you a little later?" I ask.

"Is everything alright?" he quickly asks, "Yeah, I just need to check on something." I tell him. "Okay, I'll talk to you later then." he says and disconnects the call.

Eavesdropping is not a good thing to do but I couldn't myself here. I stand to a side and try listen to the conversation from the little gap between the door frame and the door.

"I want to stay here. I want to be where James is for the rest of my life and I know Callie and Dani will understand when I tell this to them." I hear mum say.

"What about the house in London?"Uncle Bobby asks.

"When Yaser got our house back in Brighton, I had it changed from James' name to Callie's name." mum begins to say. "Since I want to be here, I thought of letting Dani take the house after her wedding. The prices are over the roof if she wants a house now. I've made all the arrangements to have the house in her name as soon as we head back to London."

Was this why mum told Dani to wait about Dani and Harry finding a new place to stay in?

"Are you sure about this, Kate?" I hear Aunt Maura ask mum.

"I think it's better this way. My girls have grown up and they have their own lives to lead and I think James would have agreed with this." mum says.

"Kate, life would have been different if James were around." Uncle Bobby tells her.

"I know but he's always told me that when we were old, we would move back here, the place where it all began." I could hear her sniffle as she spoke. "I'm sure they'll understand. I've got very understanding girls." I wipe away the tears that had fallen on my cheeks.

I slowly walk back up the stairs and got into my room. I close the door and sat on the bed. I'm not sure if what I heard was something I was meant to know now but if this is what mum wants then I am nobody to tell her anything. Even if we are understanding girls, Dani wouldn't be very happy about it.

She's mum's little sweetheart.

Shorter than usual, I know.

I couldn't think of what to add after this so I thought it's better end here.

Anyway, I put The Wedding Breakers up for the Wattys 2016 but then when I read the rules I found that the Wedding Breakers will not be eligible for it because I completed the book in 2015. I have another book of mine up for the Wattys though.
