Ch. 9

"Guys, I have another good news!" Jin announced. "This girl here...Kyoko Hiyori, will be our new manager!" He exclaimed excitedly. He even tapped Hiyori's shoulder and gave her a shoulder hug which caught her by surprise because no guy other than a particular someone did that to her.

Kenichi on the other hand was clenching his fist as if he was controlling his anger.

"All right!" Everyone shouted enthusiastically, except Kenichi. Some even high-fived each other, some wolf-whistled.

"That's our girl!" Shouted Tanaka Mio, a guy who had a crush on Hiyori for almost a year already - everyone already knew about it but he couldn't care less.

Hiyori looked at him, blushing then looked away as he smile at her with a peace sign in his hand.

"Ehhhh!" the girls in the crowd shouted in surprise at sync with the boys.

"What the heck?!" One of them protested. "She shouldn't be the one!" But no one listened to her.

"Alright team! Let's take care of them from now on!" Jin shouted at everyone as if there's no interruption or whatsoever.

"Please take care of us, manager!" All of them shouted enthusiastically.

Hiyori just blushed in embarrassment while, Kenichi was forcing to control his temper.

"Hey," Kenichi called out to Hiyori as they walk on the empty street to their apartments. He was walking behind Hiyori who was silent the whole journey.

"Yori..." He called out her name. He rushed to her, took her wrist and turned her to him. "Why did you agree on being the manager of the team?"

"Nothing..." she said flatly without looking at him.

Kenichi let go of her wrist and said, "Why are you being like this?"

"You tell me, Ichi-kun..." for the first time, ever since Kenichi transferred in her school, she spoke his nickname - It is only her who calls him that.

"I..." Kenichi started to say but Hiyori already turned around.

"It's getting late. Let's go home..." And with that she walked ahead.
