Ch. 10

"It's been a month and a half already, Hiyo-chan. Why aren't you talking to Fujiro-kun?" Yuki suddenly asked as the bell rang for lunch break. She was sitting In front of Hiyori's desk, looking at her best friend intently.

"Nothing in particular," she replied in a flat tone. "I just don't want to talk to him."

"Why? He helped you out last time when you fainted. Why not be friends with him?"

"We can't..." Hiyori replied as she took out her obento with her spoon and fork from her school bag, and placed it on her desk.

Because we've got a past, she wants to say but she stopped herself.

"It won't hurt being friends with him. Besides, I've noticed that he've been looking at you most of the time..." Yuki said as a matter-of-factly with a grin on her face.

Hiyori frowned at Yuki as if she said something wrong.

"I'm not joking...he is not even aware when I was looking at him. He was really looking straight at you without even blinking! If you're convince, see it for yourself now!" Yuki said smiling from ear to ear.

Hiyori blushed at the thought then slowly but carefully, turned her head to the direction where Kenichi sits behind her.

Kenichi was surprised and almost spilled his drink as their eyes met. He quickly looked away from her, blushing slightly.

"See...I told you," Yuki said, grinning at her. "I bet he got a crush on you..." She teased.

Hiyori blushed even more. You just don't know what's happening.., she silently said to herself.

"Oh well, I must say...its your lost," Yuki suddenly said as she stood up from the chair.

"What do you mean?" Hiyori frowned at her.

"You 'll see. Eat up first. Gonna buy some food at the cafeteria. Later!" She said then went out of the room.

What does she mean by that?, Hiyori thought in a frown.

As Hiyo headed down the hallway to the girls' toilet she saw Shouri dragging someone with her. Her arms are wrapped around tightly on his waist.

Hiyori looked up to see who that person was and that guy is none other than...

Kenichi...?

Hiyo on the other hand thought of helping him because she felt pity for him...or is it for another reason?, part of her brain said. She shook off at that thought.

She ignored them but what stopped her is when she heard Shouri called out his name and said,

"Kenichi-kun, if you're not going to kiss me and let me be your girlfriend. I'm gonna suicide!" Her hand gripped on his forearm, making his arm marked with her hand.

You've got to be kidding me! She's insane!, Hiyo thought outrageously and was about to run to them when suddenly...

Kenichi grabbed hold of Shouri's neck and gave her a smack on the lips.

Hiyori gasped, shocked at what she saw. She was frozen on the spot. How could he?! She thought angrily, tears welled up from her eyes.

Ehhh? Nande?, she thought as she wiped off her tears with her hand. "Why am I crying?"

She watched them as Kenichi pulled away from Shouri. Hiyori couldn't bare to see them like this so she turned away and run.

"Who's that?" Shouri asked him but he ignored her.

Damn! What did I just do? Did she see it?, Kenichi thought with a curse, watching her go.

"Hiyo-chan, are you feeling okay?" Yuki asked her best friend worriedly as they both walked side by side towards the school library. It was their self study hour so they've thought of going to the library to study.

"Hmmm?" Hiyo said absent-mindedly, staring at the book, Introduction to Literature, she was holding it but her mind wasn't in it.

"Hiyo-chan, sometimes I don't understand what's on your mind," Yuki sighed deeply, flipping on the magazine she was reading.

"Sorry, Yuki-chan. It's just I'm not in the mood right now..." Hiyori put her head down on the table with the book in her hand.

Yuki just stared at her and said nothing. She shrugged her shoulders and continue reading on the magazine she was holding.

But what they didn't know is that someone was watching Hiyori from behind a shelf near the tables.
